i am a self taught home cook who has gotten over the past 36 yrs. rave reviews and comments from family, friends and strangers on my cooking. i am not anywhere near a great chef as i have had no formal training and i do not have the knife skills it takes to be a chef. i have always wanted to go to culinary school but when my children were young we never had the money for "mommy school". now that they are grown i had to take a disability from driving a school bus after 18 yrs. due to neuropathy in my feet. i still get around but i didn't feel safe enough to drive children to school anymore. i've thought about applying to some of the cooking competitions but am afraid of failure. i am 54 yrs. old now, i think a little too late for me. oh well, maybe in my next lige. lol
