Retired from Revlon. Currently working for Kroger Company in DFW metroplex. Cheap health insurance is one reason but the real reason is I've spent 50 years of my life working with people and retirement doesn't offfer that option. Seven years of being the Seafood manager in the Carrollton store makes me do a lot of reading and research. I read lots of magazines looking for recipes I want to try and to recommend to customers, in particular people just starting to eat seafood. Especially like "Fine Cooking" and "Cooks Illustrated." Both have great recipes but most importantly they both deal with technique. Like lots of Ina Garten recipes from Food Network but get put off by her "attitude" towards ingredients that may stray away from her Long Island location.

I'm influenced by what I remember from my mother and by what I see on television or in some publication that looks easy without requiring lots of "steps". At my age I'm also influenced by recipes that deliver taste with a cap on cholesterol and fat.
