Обо мне
When I married, I could boil water. That's it!
For a wedding gift, I was given a "Betty Crocker Cookbook" and that was my first reference.
Before I attended college many years later, I worked as a waitress in a very nice restaurant and observed the cooks preparing foods for their menu. That is when I gained new ideas for preparing meals.
I love kitchen appliances. I have blenders, food choppers, a food processor, a mixer, a waffle iron, a toaster, a toaster oven, a bread maker, a microwave oven, a dish washer, a coffee grinder, a programmable coffe maker, an electric knife, a dehydrater, an electric food steamer, an electric skillet, an electric grill machine, a deep fryer, a small and large crockpot, a food sealer, a vacumm pack sealer, a large upright freezer and, of course, my stove and refrigerator, plus others. The newest addition is a Nuwave Oven.
The above appliances may not be used every day, but are kept on hand and ready.
My children are now grown and have their own families; my husband is deceased, so I mainly just cook for myself, except for family gatherings and reunions.
I do have a complaint: It is difficult to buy groceries for one person. Most products are available either two or more in packages. I only need one??? Bulk meats, I can pack for the feezer. There is no resort but to cook some items and vacumm seal for the freezer. If it is non-perishable, it goes into storage, and hopefully will be used before the expiration date. Many left-overs can go to family who live in town.
As for the present, I am learning to cook with the Nuwave Oven, hoping my cholesterol level will be reduced since I can not take the statin drugs which cause muscle spasms.
Cooking is a pleasure and I have collected many recipes and will share as time goes by.
Thank you for visiting.
