Ингредиенты

  • 8 pork sausage links
  • 1/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Pepper
  • 1 med. sized onion, sliced & separated into rings
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 6 med. potatoes, cooked
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  1. Fry the sausage in a skillet till lightly browned and all the fat has rendered. Mash the potatoes, adding the lowfat milk, 1 Tbsp. butter, cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Place a layer of half of the potatoes in a buttered baking dish. Arrange the sausages over the potatoes. Place remaining potatoes in a pastry bag fitted with a large rosette tube. Pipe potatoes in a decorative pattern around the sausages. Dot with remaining butter and bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 min.
  2. In the meantime, deep fry the onion rings in warm oil for 5 min till tender and lightly browned. Drain onions on paper towels. Garnish dish with onion rings and serve very warm. 4 servings.
