Steve and I took Rebecca to the pediatrician for her one year well baby check yesterday. The only way it could have been worse would have been if the doctor said she was not healthy. She screamed and cried the whole time! Her behavior amazed me a little bit because every other time we’ve been to the doctor she has been happy as a clam right up to the moment she gets her shots. Things were a little different than she is used to because Steve does not usually come with us and we started the appointment with a different nurse than usual, so maybe she was just thrown off a bit. ,%20measures%2030%20inches%20in%20length%20(73rd%20percentile)%20and%20has%20a%20head%20circumference%20of%2044%203/4%20centimeters%20(36th%20percentile).%20%20The%20fact%20that%20she%20is%20tall%20and%20skinny%20gives%20me%20hope%20that%20she%20might%20one%20day%20have%20a%20lucrative%20modeling%20career.%20%20Daddy%20is%20just%20happy%20she%20is%20tall%20like%20him,%20rather%20than%20short%20like%20her%20mommy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHer%20biggest%20milestone%20since%20her%20last%20doctor%20visit%20is%20that%20she%20walks.%20%20Everywhere.%20%20In%20fact,%20I%20would%20say%20she%20rarely%20crawls%20anywhere%20at%20all%20anymore.%20%20She%20will%20even%20stand%20up%20to%20take%20just%20two%20steps%20only%20to%20sit%20down%20again%20immediately%20next%20to%20a%20different%20toy.%20%20It%20seemed%20like%20she%20picked%20it%20up%20really%20fast.%20%20She%20went%20from%20just%20a%20few%20steps%20to%20across%20the%20room%20in%20just%20a%20few%20days,%20and%20then%20to%20turning%20around%20and%20walking%20all%20around%20rooms%20in%20just%20another%20few%20days.%20%20She%20still%20falls%20down%20plenty,%20and%20I%20imagine%20that%20will%20be%20the%20case%20for%20some%20time,%20but%20I%20am%20so%20proud%20of%20how%20much%20she%20has%20improved%20in%20such%20a%20short%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20addition%20to%20walking,%20Rebecca%20is%20also%20eating%20some%20finger%20foods.%20%20Cheerios%20and%20chunks%20of%20cheese%20are%20staples%20in%20her%20diet.%20%20We%E2%80%99ve%20had%20more%20difficultly%20introducing%20other%20finger%20foods,%20but%20we%E2%80%99ll%20keep%20trying%20because%20we%20can%E2%80%99t%20send%20her%20off%20to%20college%20eating%20pureed%20squash.%20%20We%E2%80%99re%20also%20introducing%20whole%20milk%20and%20trying%20to%20wean%20her%20from%20the%20bottle%20to%20a%20sippy%20cup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHad%20a%20hard%20time%20taking%20a%20picture%20of%20her%20this%20visit.%20She%20would%20not%20sit%20on%20the%20exam%20table%20and%20cried%20most%20of%20the%20time%20even%20though%20we%20were%20holding%20her.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%C2%A9%202013%20The%20Beehive%20All%20Rights%20Reserved%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
