Ингредиенты

  • 450 gm dessert pears peeled cored and sliced
  • 50 gm soft light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp grnd ginger
  • 2 piece preserved stem ginger thinly sliced
  • 100 gm self raising flour
  • 1 tsp grnd ginger
  • 50 gm caster sugar
  • 50 gm shredded suet
  • 1 x egg
  • 3 Tbsp. lowfat milk

Инструкции

  1. Arrange the pear slices in a 1 litre ovenproof dish.
  2. Mix together the sugar and the grnd and sliced ginger and sprinkle over the fruit.
  3. To make the sponge sift together the flour and grnd ginger and stir in the sugar and suet.
  4. Beat in the egg and lowfat milk and beat the mix till it is smooth.
  5. Spoon over the fruit and level the top.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven (200c/400f/gas6) for 25 min till the sponge is hard but springy to the touch. Serve warm with cream or possibly custard.
  7. Serves 4
