%20closely%20followed%20by%20one%20of%20those%20early%20digital%20cameras.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20we%20may%20have%20been%20technologically%20there%20(with%20the%20exception%20of%20Twitter!),%20we%20missed%20the%20Nutella%20wave.%20%20Letizia%20Golosa%20is%20really%20the%20person%20responsible%20for%20bringing%20us%20into%20the%20Nutella%20world%20with%20her%20Homemade%20Nutella%20Post.%20%20Her%20stunning%20shots%20of%20the%20creamy,%20chocolaty%20spread%20literally%20had%20me%20craving%20some%20for%20myself.%20%20While%20I%20haven't%20ventured%20into%20the%20homemade%20world%20yet,%20we%20did%20take%20advantage%20of%20one%20of%20those%20Costco%20super%20coupons%20for%20a%20two%20pack.%20%20Cutting%20the%20plastic%20off%20of%20the%20containers%20and%20opening%20the%20jar%20for%20the%20first%20time%20we%20really%20weren't%20sure%20how%20we%20would%20like%20it,%20but...%20Wow!!%20%20Creamy,%20nutty,%20and%20full%20of%20chocolate,%20really,%20what's%20not%20to%20like?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20our%20first%20time%20we%20have%20returned%20to%20purchase%20jar%20after%20jar.%20%20The%20plethora%20of%20Nutella%20recipes%20of%20late%20has%20me%20eager%20to%20try%20Letizia's%20homemade%20version,%20and%20I%20have%20found%20that%20the%20spread%20on%20our%20Chocolate%20Banana%20Crepes%20is%20no%20less%20than%20extraordinary.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20few%20days%20ago,%20my%20son's%20request%20to%20make%20his%20favorite%20Peanut%20Butter%20Rice%20Krispie%20Treats%20had%20me%20reaching%20for%20the%20jar%20of%20peanut%20butter%20only%20to%20be%20met%20with%20a%20shriek%20of,%20%22NO!%20%20You%20can%20not%20use%20crunchy%20peanut%20butter!%22%20%20(though%20I%20really%20do%20think%20that%20would%20have%20been%20good!).%20%20After%20I%20explained%20that%20we%20were%20out%20of%20the%20creamy%20kind%20he%20replaced%20the%20crunchy%20jar%20into%20the%20pantry%20and%20returned%20with%20a%20fresh%20jar%20of%20Nutella.%20%20Why%20not?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20got%20to%20mixing,%20melting%20a%20cup%20of%20the%20Nutella%20into%20the%20marshmallow%20mixture%20and%20then%20creating%20a%20decadent%20topping%20of%20the%20chocolaty%20hazelnut%20spread%20combined%20with%20melted%20chocolate.%20%20Eagerly%20anticipating%20our%20first%20tastes,%20I%20watched%20the%20smiles%20all%20around%20and%20a%20plate%20emptying%20fairly%20quickly.%20%20I'd%20say%20we%20have%20a%20hit!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENutella%20Rice%20Krispie%20Treats%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETreats:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeasure%20the%20cereal%20into%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl%20and%20set%20aside.%20Melt%20the%20marshmallows%20and%20butter%20together%20in%20a%20medium%20saucepan%20over%20medium%20heat.%20%20Add%20the%20Nutella%20and%20stir%20until%20combined.%20%20Pour%20the%20melted%20marshmallow%20mixture%20over%20the%20cereal%20stirring%20well%20to%20evenly%20coat%20the%20cereal.%20Pour%20into%20the%20prepared%20pan%20and%20use%20a%20small%20buttered%20piece%20of%20waxed%20paper%20or%20the%20back%20of%20a%20spoon%20sprayed%20with%20cooking%20spray%20to%20press%20evenly%20into%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20sauce%20pan%20melt%20the%20remaining%201%20cup%20of%20Nutella,%20shortening%20and%20chopped%20chocolate%20over%20medium/medium%20low%20heat.%20%20When%20the%20chocolate%20has%20melted%20and%20the%20mixture%20is%20smooth,%20pour%20over%20the%20cereal%20mixture.%20%20Gently%20spread%20the%20chocolate%20topping%20evenly%20across%20the%20top%20of%20the%20krispies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20the%20chocolate%20to%20set,%20then%20cut%20into%20squares%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECutting%20Edge!!!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
