%20Pumpkin%20French%20Toast%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENovember%206,%202009%20by%20Laura%2012%20Comments%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20to%20apologize%20for%20this%20post%20in%20advance.%20On%20the%20one%20hand,%20this%20idea%20is%20just%20too%20good%20not%20to%20share,%20and%20I%20feel%20confident%20that%20anyone%20who%20has%20made%20French%20toast%20can%20do%20it.%20On%20the%20other%20hand,%20I%20have%20no%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20one%20thing,%20I%20made%20the%20dish%20before%20I%20got%20bronchitis,%20and%20as%20everyone%20knows%20sick%20time%20is%20basically%20twice%20as%20long%20as%20regular%20time%E2%80%93i.e.,%20there%20is%20no%20way%20I%20can%20remember%20what%20I%20did%20back%20then%20and%20shame%20on%20me%20for%20not%20writing%20it%20down.%20For%20another%20thing,%20even%20if%20I%20had%20written%20it%20down%20I%20would%20have%20had%20to%20guess.%20Because%20I%20did%20not%20measure%20anything,%20instead%20I%20started%20with%20how%20much%20leftover%20canned%20pumpkin%20I%20had%20(about%203/4%20%E2%80%93%201%20cup)%20and%20kept%20adding%20eggs%20and%20milk%20until%20the%20consistency%20looked%20right.%20I%20think%20I%20used%204%20eggs,%20not%20sure%20about%20the%20milk,%20and%20I%20know%20I%20added%20a%20drizzle%20of%20maple%20syrup,%20a%20little%20vanilla%20and%20a%20lot%20of%20cinnamon.%20Soak%20each%20piece%20of%20preferably%20stale%20bread%20for%20at%20least%205%20minutes,%20hopefully%20a%20little%20longer.%20Fry%20in%20a%20pat%20of%20butter%20on%20medium%20to%20low%20heat.%20Serve%20with%20maple%20syrup.%20Helpful?%20Well%20anyway,%20try%20it,%20I%20promise%20you%20will%20like%20it!%20It%20made%20about%206%20fairly%20thick%20slices%20of%20French%20toast%20from%20leftover%20homemade%20sandwich%20bread.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
