%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECream%20butter,%20sugar,%202%20whole%20eggs,%201%20egg%20yolk%20and%20lemon%20juice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20dry%20ingredients%20together,%20then%20stir%20into%20creamed%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20in%20walnuts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20about%201/4%20of%20the%20dough%20at%20a%20time,%20roll%20out%20to%20app.%201/16%E2%80%B3%20thick%20on%20a%20floured%20board.%20%20Dough%20is%20a%20bit%20sticky.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECut%20with%20a%20star%20cutter%20and%20place%20on%20a%20greased%20baking%20sheet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20egg%20white%20until%20frothy%20and%20brush%20the%20tops%20of%20the%20cookies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20at%20375F%20(190C)%206%20%E2%80%93%208%20minutes%20or%20until%20very%20lightly%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20and%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20the%20last%20of%20my%20Christmas%20cookie%20recipes%20for%20this%20year.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETwo%20others%20that%20I%E2%80%99ve%20posted%20in%20the%20past%20are%20mon%20mari%E2%80%99s%20favorite%20Lemon%20Bars%20and%20one%20for%20the%20true%20chocoholic:%20Triple%20Chocolate,%20Chocolate%20Chunk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20to%20the%20silence%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20an%20errand%20to%20run%20this%20morning.%20When%20I%20cam%20back%20the%20big%20fuel%20truck%20was%20partially%20blocking%20our%20little%20one%20lane%20road.%20The%202%20huge%20dump%20trucks%20were%20lined%20up%20waiting%20to%20be%20filled%20up%20and%20the%20grater%20and%20backhoe%20were%20making%20their%20way%20across%20the%20field%20to%20do%20the%20same.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20inched%20around%20the%20lot,%20got%20home%20and%20told%20mon%20mari%20that%20I%20would%20be%20glad%20when%20they%20were%20finally%20done.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20few%20hours%20later%20there%20was%20silence%E2%80%A6.%20Total%20silence.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENo%20reverse%20horns%20beeping,%20the%20backhoe%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20digging,%20the%20dump%20trucks%20had%20quit%20dumping%20and%20the%20grater%20was%20no%20longer%20grating%E2%80%A6.%20They%20were%20all%20sitting%20at%20the%20top%20of%20the%20hill.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20were%20done.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20won%E2%80%99t%20be%20woken%20up%20in%20the%20dark%20tomorrow%20morning%20with%20the%20guys%20coming%20to%20work%20and%20firing%20up%20the%20equipment.%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20able%20to%20walk%20the%20dogs%20in%20peace%20with%20no%20heavy%20equipment%20circling%20us.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20done.%20The%20lake%20is%20finished.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOf%20course%20all%20of%20the%20equipment%20is%20sitting%20next%20to%20our%20little%20lane%20waiting%20for%20transport%20so%20that%20should%20entertain%20us%20for%20another%20few%20hours%E2%80%A6.%20Obviously,%20the%20dump%20trucks%20can%20leave%20under%20their%20own%20power%20but%20even%20they%20have%20to%20wait%20for%20the%20escort%20vehicles%20as%20they%20are%20so%20big.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20we%20wait%20for%20the%20rains.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELast%20update%20on%20December%209,%202015%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
