Have you been watching Top Chef? I’m watching this season because one of the judges is Hugh Acheson. Hugh was a competitor on Top Chef Masters Season 3 and has a restaurant here in Athens, GA that I’m a big fan of – Five & Ten. Next month, at a media event with Buick, I’ll be watching Hugh give a cooking demonstration at his restaurant Empire State South in Atlanta. I can’t wait!

I really enjoyed last night’s '50s Food Flashback Challenge where the cheftestants had to recreate a classic ‘50s menu from Canlis, regarded as the finest restaurant in Seattle. (If I ever make it to Seattle, I’m going to have to have dinner at Canlis. What a gorgeous place!)

In case you haven’t seen it, I’m not going to give away the winner. But let’s just say that sometimes simple, straightforward cooking wins out. Forget the foo-foo stuff!

Set your DVRs! Top Chef airs every Wednesday at 10/9c on Bravo. This season goes until March 6, 2013.
