%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBtw...this%20recipe%20was%20adapted%20from%20one%20of%20those%20little%20mini%20cookbooks%20you%20find%20at%20the%20grocery%20store%20right%20at%20the%20checkout%20counter.%20It's%20from%20Pillsbury%20Slow%20Cooker.%20But%20this%20night,%20I%20didn't%20have%20time%20to%20%22slow%20cook%22%20it.%20I%20needed%20it%20ready%20soon.%20So%20I%20stove%20topped%20it%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20oil%20and%20saute%20your%20chicken%20in%20the%20pot%20that%20you're%20going%20to%20cook%20your%20chili%20in.%20Remove%20the%20chicken%20and%20set%20aside.%20Saute%20the%20onion%20in%20the%20pot....add%201%20cup%20of%20the%20chicken%20broth%20and%20de-glaze%20your%20pot.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20this%20next%20step%20is%20not%20necessary.....nor%20is%20it%20recommended.%20But%20I'm%20going%20to%20share%20it%20with%20you%20anyway.%20Don't%20ask%20me%20why.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMaybe%20just%20for%20the%20adventure%20of%20it?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20checking%20out%20Melissa%20D'Arabian's%20recipe%20for%20White%20Chili%20because%20the%20name%20also%20included%20Quick%20Roasted%20Garlic.%20I%20mean....how%20could%20that%20not%20sound%20good?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20tried%20her%20%22quick%22%20method%20for%20roasting%20garlic%20and%20wanted%20to%20add%20that%20to%20my%20chili%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20shoulda%20known...I%20mean,%20if%20i%20were%20thinking%20logically,%20it%20woulda%20been%20obvious.%20But%20nooOOOOoooo....I%20did%20as%20I%20was%20told%20and%20then%20went%20DUH%20afterward.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20see,%20you%20take%20your%20garlic%20cloves,%20skins%20included%20and%20put%20them%20in%20a%20small%20microwave%20safe%20bowl%20and%20add%201%20tablespoon%20of%20oil%20and%201%20teaspoon%20of%20water,%20like%20so....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECover,%20leaving%20a%20vent%20and%20nuke%20'em%20for%20about%201.5%20minutes,%20or%20until%20the%20garlic%20is%20soft.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey're%20supposta%20be%20buttery%20soft.%20I%20mean,%20isn't%20that%20what%20roasted%20garlic%20is%20all%20about?%20Well....these%20were%20just%20greasy.%20And%20its%20no%20wonder.%20I%20mean,%20basically%20they%20were%20%22boiled%22%20in%20oil.%20Wtf?%20How%20is%20that%20even%20remotely%20considered%20%22roasted%22?!%20Really%20Melissa?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESooo...just%20saute%20the%20little%20buggers%20with%20the%20onion,%20towards%20the%20end%20of%20that%20sauteing%20process.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow...back%20to%20business.%20Return%20the%20chicken%20to%20the%20pan%20and%20add%20the%20remaining%20ingredients%20(don't%20forget%20about%20that%20other%201/2%20cup%20of%20chicken%20broth),%20except%20for%20the%20green%20chilies,%20hot%20sauce%20and%20garnishments.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimmer%20for%20about%2030%20minutes,%20stirring%20occasionally.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20before%20serving%20add%20the%20green%20chilies%20and%20optional%20hot%20sauce%20(I%20opted%20out)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20and%20top%20with%20avocado,%20sour%20cream%20and%20cilantro%20or%20anything%20else%20you%20can%20think%20of%20that%20would%20enhance%20your%20dining%20experience.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWant%20some?%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
