.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20we%20went%20back%20to%20the%20car%20to%20regroup,%20we%20got%20down%20to%20business%20(literally%20down,%20strawberry%20picking%20meant%20an%20hour%20crouching%20in%20the%20dirt!)%20and%20both%20came%20away%20with%20big%20cartons%20of%20tasty%20berries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGlover%20Farms,%20if%20anyone%20local%20wants%20to%20go%20themselves.%20%20We%E2%80%99d%20recommend%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C%5E%3E%20As%20of%20June%202nd,%20Jamba%20Juice%20has%20added%20a%20fresh-squeezed%20juice%20menu%20at%20over%20500%20locations%20nationally.%20%20They%20sent%20me%20a%20gift%20card%20so%20that%20I%20could%20try%20some%20out.%20%20The%20card%20got%20here%20just%20in%20time,%20because%20I%20was%20at%20two%20different%20locations%20with%20Jambas%20this%20weekend%20so%20I%20was%20able%20to%20try%20two%20options.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlease%20note%20%E2%80%93%20I%20received%20a%20gift%20card%20so%20that%20I%20could%20sample%20the%20juice%20menu%20free%20of%20charge.%20%20I%20was%20not%20provided%20further%20compensation%20for%20this%20post.%20%20All%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%E2%80%99s%20start%20with%20the%20negative%20%E2%80%93%20these%20drinks%20are%20not%20juices.%20%20They%20juice%20the%20fruits,%20carrots,%20and%20beets,%20but%20then%20that%20juice%20is%20put%20into%20a%20blender%20with%20the%20greens,%20making%20this%20item%20a%20smoothie.%20%20I%20started%20this%20argument%20with%20an%20employee%20and%20eventually%20gave%20up,%20but%20fresh-squeezed%20juice%20does%20not%20involve%20a%20blender.%20%20Period.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20said,%20inaccurate%20marketing%20aside,%20the%20drinks%20were%20quite%20tasty%20and%20healthy.%20%20Both%20flavors%20I%20tried%20had%20a%20good%20balance%20of%20sweet%20to%20green.%20%20And%20every%2016%20oz%20%E2%80%9Cjuice%E2%80%9D%20has%202%20full%20servings%20of%20fruit%20and/or%20vegetables%20for%20minimal%20caloric%20cost.%20%20Tropical%20greens:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESuper%20greens/apple/pineapple/chia.%20%20210%20calories%20in%20a%2016%20oz.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGarden%20Medley:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESuper%20greens/carrot/apple/chia.%20%20170%20calories%20in%20a%2016%20oz.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C%5E%3E%20I%20haven%E2%80%99t%20blogged%20about%20them%20much,%20but%20I%20have%20been%20loving%20the%20almond%20thins%20that%20Nonni%E2%80%99s%20sent%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20banana%20chocolate%20flavor%20is%20legit.%20%20And%20I%E2%80%99m%20usually%20annoyed%20by%20things%20that%20are%20put%20in%20100%20calorie%20packages%20but%20the%20serving%20size%20feels%20perfect%20here.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C%5E%3E%20I%20ate%20homemade%20nachos%20while%20I%20watched%20the%202%20hour%20season%20intro%20of%20Rookie%20Blue%20and%20I%20practically%20cried%20I%20was%20so%20happy.%20%20Summer%20tv%20at%20its%20best.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20had%20an%20episode%20of%20Awkward.%20%20Best.%20Night.%20Ever.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C%5E%3E%20I%20finally%20got%20to%20try%20Chinatown%20Ice%20Cream%20Factory.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20I%20totally%20get%20the%20hype;%20I%20tasted%20Zen%20Butter%20%E2%80%93%20sesame%20and%20peanut%20butter%20%E2%80%93%20and%20it%20was%20worth%20the%20buzz.%20%20I%20chose%20taro%20and%20black%20sesame%20for%20my%20cup%20though.%20%20The%20black%20sesame%20was%20amazing,%20super%20roasty%20and%20crunchy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C%5E%3E%20Saturday%E2%80%99s%20dinner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAsian%20flavors%20night.%20%20Bok%20choy%20saut%C3%A9ed%20with%20green%20onions%20in%20evoo.%20%20Towards%20the%20end%20I%20tossed%20in%20some%20thinly%20sliced%20Persian%20cucumbers%20that%20I%20quick-pickled%20in%20sugar%20and%20salt%20for%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20big%20pile%20of%20green%20curry%20turkey%20salad.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20salad%20was%20so%20good%20it%E2%80%99s%20getting%20its%20own%20recipe%20page.%20%20I%20promise%20to%20get%20that%20up%20on%20the%20blog%20tomorrow.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C%5E%3E%20Sunday%E2%80%99s%20dinner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESuch%20a%20summery%20%E2%80%93%20vegetarian%20%E2%80%93%20plate!%20%20Corn%20on%20the%20cob,%20of%20course.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20bbq%20tofu.%20%20I%20rubbed%20TJ%E2%80%99s%20super%20firm%20extra-protein%20tofu%20with%20a%20homemade%20spice%20blend%20%7Bbrown%20sugar,%20smoked%20paprika,%20cumin,%20and%20curry%20powder%7D%20and%20baked%20it%20off%20before%20tossing%20the%20slices%20in%20a%20skillet%20with%20some%20bbq%20sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus%20we%20had%20chard%20saut%C3%A9ed%20in%20evoo%20with%20salt,%20toasted%20hazelnuts%20and%20a%20drizzle%20of%20maple%20syrup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20teensy%20pile%20of%20greens%20was%20what%20happened%20when%20I%20cooked%20down%20this%20big%20bunch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20bought%20my%20greens%20at%20a%20tiny%20farmer%E2%80%99s%20market%20that%20was%20happening%20at%20the%20farm%20museum%20near%20my%20house.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20chard%20was%20picked%20the%20same%20day%20I%20bought%20it!%20%20The%20only%20thing%20fresher%20is%20my%20strawberries%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHave%20you%20ever%20picked%20your%20own%20berries?%20%20We%20have%20our%20eye%20on%20apples%20this%2
