We Jumped on the Cat Bearding Bandwagon

There are just not enough gushy things I can say about this photo. “Why is there a cat on your face? And what the heck is cat bearding?” you ask.

So, we’ve been trying to potty train Some Boy. Slowly but surely, he and I have developed an open dialogue about bodily functions. This led to him loudly and repeatedly yelling, “Bye Bye Poo Poo!” at the Good Morning America producers while they were filming in the middle of our living room last week.

Awesome.

Anywho, we talk about poo a lot around here. Mama poos, Dada poos, baby poos and even kitty and doggy go poo. I’ve explained to our toddler that while his place for poo is in the toilet, Ulysses the kitty gets a special box to go right in the middle of Oma and Opa’s living room! Please, tell me this isn’t going to backfire. If I find a toddler poo in there one day I am going to FLIP.

Some Boy finds the whole thing fascinating. And while we’re torturing our cats with demonstrations about their fecal matter, I thought this would be the perfect time to snap a cat bearding pic.

Cat Bearding Goes to the Dogs

Not to be left out, Nate had to hop in with his own doggy version of the cat bearding phenomena.

You win this round, Bjorne.

For those of you who are wondering how we get away with keeping the litter box in the middle of the family room, fear not! I shall divulge my secret. I know you’re on the edge of your seats. We use the Fresh Step OdorShield Formula with natural plant extracts and essential oils to keep everyone and their delicate sensitivities happy. I love that they include natural ingredients instead of just a ton of chemical fillers to eliminate odor. And if you purchase the 42 pound package at Sam’s Club between now and the end of the month, you get double paw points! And really, who doesn’t love MORE paws?

Have you tried cat bearding with your feline friends? It’s easy! Hold your cat in your lap facing away from your and gently lift their nose up to your while someone snaps a pic.
