Рецепт Watermelonade
Watermelonade
This summer, we have had some really scorching hot days, what better way to cool off than this fabulous and easy breezy summer drink. We did it non-alcoholic because we were trying to hydrate, but it would be fab-u with a little vodka in it. To make it a little thicker, you might want to add a half of a banana. I would drink it within 24 hours, and make sure to shake it up good if it’s been sitting for any length of time–which never happened in our house…
Watermelonade
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 medium-sized seedless watermelon
- 1/2 cup sugar, divided
- 1 lemon-juiced*
- crushed ice-about 8-10 cups
DIRECTIONS:
Cut watermelon in half. Using a melon baller or spoon, start digging out about 1/4 of the flesh and put it in a blender. Add a few tablespoons of sugar, a few squirts of the lemon and a few cup fulls of crushed ice. (This is an exact science can you tell). Blend until smooth, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, discard the solids. Repeat this process 3 more times, or until all the watermelon is used. Then mix it all up and taste, you made need more sugar or lemon or even a pinch of salt. Serve over more crushed ice.
*To get the most juice out of a lemon, microwave for 10 seconds, then roll around on the counter to get the juices flowing. This will make it much easier to juice and will gain you the most liquid.
