Lime juice adds a lively note to this Vietnamese Beef Stir Fry.

Vietnamese Inspired Beef Stir Fry

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, lime juice, sugar, and fish sauce; stir until the sugar dissolves.

Add the garlic, ½ teaspoon pepper.

Season the beef with salt and pepper.

In a 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat ½ Tablespoon oil over medium-high heat until shimmering hot.

Swirl to coat the skillet. Add he beef in a single layer and cook, without stirring, until well browned, 1 to 2 minutes.

Using tongs, turn the pieces over and brown on the other side, 1 to 2 minutes more.

Transfer to a medium bowl.

Add rest of the oil to the skillet heat until shimmering hot.

Add the shallots and cook, stirring frequently, until it begins to soften, 2 to 3 minutes.

Add the garlic mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Return the beef and any accumulated juices to the pan and stir to combine until the beef and onions are coated and the sauce thickens slightly, 2 to 3 minutes.

I know what you are thinking.

Yes, it is. Another twist on a beef stir fry and it is as delicious as all the others I have shared with all of you lately.

You know, I was thinking about how I have been faithfully writing a blog post with a recipe every single day for more than 18 months straight.

I don’t seem to attract many comments on my posts though. I know people stop by and read something here. But just not long enough to comment. Yes, I get one or two here and there.

I guess when I visit other blogs and see that 50 or 60 people have left a comment and not because it was a giveaway, I wonder. Am I boring? Are you here to just grab the recipe and go?

Are comments even all that important anyway? Perhaps not, but I think it makes the author feel that someone is reading and stopping by. It validates all the hard work that goes into a food blog.

Ahh, enough ranting. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
