Varagu Arisi Upma Recipe By Praveen Kumar | Published February 26, 2014 | Health, Upma | No Comment Email to Friend Print Recipe Ingredients: Varagu Arisi (Kodo Millet) – 1/2 cup, cleaned, washed, dry roasted Onion – 1, finely chopped Mixed Vegetables – 3/4 cup Curry Leaves – few Green Chillies – 2, finely chopped Oil – 3 tblsp Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp Urad Dal – 1/2 tsp Salt -  1 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice – 1 1/2 tsp Coriander Leaves – 2 tblsp, finely chopped Water – 1 1/2 cups Method: 1. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame. 2. Fry the urad dal, mustard seeds, green chillies and curry leaves for a minute. 3. Add the onions and saute well. 4. Add the mixed vegetables, salt, turmeric powder and cook for 3 minutes. 5. Add enough water and cook till it starts to boil. 6. Add the varagu arisi and stir well. 7. Stir well and cover with a lid. 8. Cook for 15 minutes or until the water has almost evaporated/absorbed. 9. Remove from flame. 10. Add lemon juice and stir to mix. 11.
