Рецепт Vanilla Buttermilk Heart Cakes
Sometimes you have to think outside the pan. That’s exactly how I created these Vanilla Buttermilk Heart Cakes.
Vanilla Buttermilk Heart Cakes
- 1 cup flour (all-purpose or cake)
- ? cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon dried buttermilk
- 1 egg, at room temperature
- ¼ cup (1/2 stick) butter, at room temperature
- ⅔ cup water
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
- Position your oven rack in the center of your oven and preheat the oven to 350F degrees.
- Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with nonstick baking spray with flour. (Such as Bakers Joy or Pam with flour)
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, dried buttermilk and salt until well blended.
Add the egg, butter, water and vanilla bean paste to the flour mixture.
Using an electric mixer on medium-low speed, beat the mixture for 1 minute, until blended. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl with a spatula and then beat on medium speed for 1 minute more, until everything is incorporated and well blended.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake in a preheated oven for 20-24 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the pan from the oven and set it on a wire cooling rack for 10 minutes, then remove the cake from the pan and place it on the rack (top side up) to cool completely.

These treats didn’t start out as heart shaped cakes.
I wanted to make a quick cake to take to my co worker since it was going to her last day in her current position. I pulled out a loaf pan and baked my cake. When it was done and I removed it from the pan, it was quite flat. I looked at it and I thought it was pitiful. But then I had the brilliant idea to make heart shaped cake-lets out of it using my cookie cutters.
I am back at the monthly #FillTheCookieJar post that is hosted by Cynthia from Feeding Big. Out cookie these is Valentines.
These might not be cookies, and yes, I am stretching it a bit. I used cookie cutters and they are heart shaped.
Think outside of cookie jar for a change. Do you love them?
