- 6-8 med. turnips (about 2 lbs.)
- 2 teaspoon flour
- 1/2 c. evaporated skim lowfat milk
- 3 tbsp. chopped onions
- 1/4 teaspoon dry thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- Rinse turnips; pierce skin. Place about 1" apart on a paper towel in the microwave. Cook on High for 6 to 8 min. Let stand 3 min. Trim, peel and quarter the turnips. Arrange in a casserole.
- Whisk the flour, lowfat milk, onions, thyme, nutmeg and pepper in a c.. Microwave on High for 30 seconds. Stir, then microwave for 30 seconds more. Let stand for 1 minute. Pour over turnips and toss. Microwave on High for 1 to 1 1/2 min. Serves 4.
