%20If%20you're%20around...come%20check%20it%20out%20and%20enjoy%20some%20good%20cupcakes,%20lots%20of%20fun%20and%20great%20people.%20Ya,%20I%20know...it's%20suppose%20to%20rain.%20I%20say...that's%20all%20the%20more%20reason%20you%20should%20come!%20What%20more%20do%20you%20need%20to%20brighten%20up%20a%20rainy%20day?!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESoo....now%20that%20you%20know%20what%20I've%20been%20up%20to%20this%20week...let%20me%20share%20some%20basic%20%22starter%22%20recipes%20that%20I%20used%20for%20my%20real%20recipes%20for%20the%20Pom%20Wonderful%20Dinner%20Party.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst,%20I%20have%20a%20Pomegranate%20Molasses.%20This%20was%20used%20in%203%20of%20my%20recipes%20and%20would%20be%20great%20in%20several%20others.%20I%20didn't%20make%20it%20up%20or%20anything....I%20just%20did%20a%20search%20and%20found%20it%20on%20Foodnetwork.com.%20It's%20not%20difficult....just%20a%20little%20time%20consuming.%20You%20have%20to%20stay%20on%20top%20of%20it.%20The%20first%20time%20I%20made%20it...I%20burnt%20it.%20I%20almost%20didn't%20%22bother%22%20to%20try%20again....but%20am%20so%20glad%20I%20did....%20it%20really%20is%20worth%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlton%20Brown's%20Pomegranate%20Molasses%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20cups%20pomegranate%20juice%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2%20cup%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20tablespoon%20fresh%20lemon%20juice%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20all%20ingredients%20into%20a%20saucepan,%20over%20medium%20heat.%20Cook,%20stirring%20occasionally%20until%20the%20sugar%20has%20dissolved.%20Reduce%20the%20heat%20to%20low%20and%20continue%20cooking%20and%20stirring%20occasionally%20until%20the%20mixture%20has%20reduced%20down%20to%20about%201%20cup.%20Be%20careful%20toward%20the%20end....with%20the%20sugars%20that%20condensed,%20it%20can%20burn%20easily.%20You%20want%20the%20mixture%20to%20be%20the%20consistency%20of%20syrup...it%20will%20thicken%20further%20as%20it%20cools.%20Remove%20from%20heat%20and%20allow%20to%20cool%20for%20about%201/2%20hour.%20Place%20into%20a%20glass%20jar%20and%20let%20it%20cool%20completely.%20Cover%20and%20store%20in%20the%20fridge%20for%20up%20to%206%20months.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20other%20recipe%20is%20for%20a%20rub.%20I%20made%20it%20quite%20a%20while%20ago%20but%20have%20only%20used%20it%20in%20soups.%20Its%20wonderfully%20flavorful%20with%20lots%20of%20depth.%20Again....%20I%20found%20this%20recipe%20at%20Foodnetwork.com.%20It's%20a%20Michael%20Chiarello%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small,%20heavy%20pan,%20toast%20the%20fennel%20seeds,%20coriander%20seeds,%20and%20peppercorns%20over%20a%20medium%20heat%20until%20the%20fennel%20seeds%20are%20lightly%20browned.%20Quickly%20turn%20on%20the%20exhaust%20fan%20and%20add%20the%20red%20pepper%20flakes....tossing%20continuously%20for%20a%20few%20seconds%20while%20the%20fan%20is%20on.%20Pour%20the%20hot%20spices%20onto%20a%20plate%20to%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20a%20coffee%20grinder%20specifically%20for%20spices.%20Put%20the%20cooled%20spices%20into%20a%20grinder%20or%20blender%20(if%20using%20a%20blender,%20go%20ahead%20and%20add%20the%20remaining%20ingredients).%20Grind%20until%20everything%20is%20evenly%20ground.%20Place%20in%20a%20jar,%20add%20remaining%20ingredients%20and%20mix.%20Keep%20in%20a%20cool,%20dry%20place.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20there%20you%20have%20two%20of%20the%20starter%20recipes%20that%20were%20part%20of%20a%20few%20of%20my%20dishes.%20Of%20course%20these%20can%20be%20done%20way%20ahead%20time.%20They%20both%20add%20great%20flavor%20that%20you%20won't%20want%20to%20miss.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStay%20tuned%20for%20more%20Pom%20Wonderful%20recipes%20and%20I%20hope%20to%20see%20you%20at%20Cupcake%20Camp%20L.A.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
