Рецепт Tian de Courgette; meanderings
This is the last recipe from my French courgette (zucchini) collection.
As with the others, it was incredibly simple, just using the best, fresh ingredients of summer.
Of course, I modified it just a bit….
I left out the aubergine (eggplant) and added mozzarella.
What can I say… we like cheese.
Tian de Courgette
Total time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 medium – large yellow squash, sliced about 1/4″ (.7cm)
- 4 – 5 Roma tomatoes, sliced the same thickness as squash
- 2 tsp Herbes de Provence
- 2 tbs good olive oil
- 1 ball fresh mozzarella (4oz, 125gr net weight), sliced
Instructions:
Put 1 tbs olive oil in a baking dish just large enough to hold ingredients, Swirl to coat bottom.
Layer the squash and tomato slices, alternating, in whatever design suits your dish
Sprinkle with Herbes.
Drizzle remaining 1 tbs oil over top.
Cover with foil and bake in 400F (200C) oven for 35 minutes.
Remove foil, add sliced mozzarella, and bake 5 minutes longer.
Serve from baking dish.
The upstairs hall:
Because it’s in the center of the house in both directions the ceiling in the hall was amazingly easy – almost flat. It angled to the outer wall but there were no odd bits to go around other than the support posts.
On the other hand, hanging the wallpaper presented a bit of a challenge.
Mon mari put the scaffold over the opening for the stairs.
The other walls were easier.
Then floor was finished.
You can see the gap between the ceiing below and the floor…. That’s where the mice live. Mon mari put insulation in there to keep them warm. He’s so kind.
And, finally, the banister was finished. I have to say I was much relieved to have it up.
Even better, the bookcases were built. At long last I could unpack my paperback books.
If you are a reader, you understand how awful it is to have your library in boxes for 4 years….. Even with careful labeling so I could find what I was looking for.
It’s just not the same as browsing.
And that is the upstairs hall…
