- Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water remove skins and liquidise to a thick puree.
- Heat the oil in a pan and add in the mustard seeds.
- When they pop add in the cumin seeds and the curry leaves.
- Stir once and add in the celery seedsAfter one more stir pour the tomato puree into this spice mix.
- Add in the sugar and salt dilute with 300ml of water and bring to the boil.
- Simmer till blended about 5 min and remove from the heat.
- Serve warm sprinkled with fresh coriander leaves.
- This recipe is from the south and can be served as a soup before the main meal.
