The Weekend Dish: 7/11/2015

Hello weekend!

I don’t know about you, but I’m more than ready for a couple days of sunshine! We’re about halfway through summer, but you wouldn’t know it from the weather around here, it’s been cool and raining for what feels like forever. What fun summer activities have you been doing??

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

On Brown Eyed Baker This Week

DIY: Homemade Mayonnaise – It took me a few tries, but I finally mastered homemade mayonnaise and I think it’s going to be a staple in our refrigerator from now on.

Chocolate Chip Muffins – These are one of the simplest recipes you’ll ever make – no fancy ingredients and ready to bake in minutes!

Cheesy Zucchini and Sun-Dried Tomato Scones – If you have an abundance of zucchini this summer, these scones are an awesome alternative to all of the zucchini bread you’ve been making.

No-Bake Chubby Hubby Bars – I have always been enamored by the combination of chocolate, peanut butter and pretzels made popular by Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, so I created no-bake bars!

Friday Things – Our little Michelin man, toys, rain, stains, plants, Wimbledon and more…

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:

Blueberry Glazed Breakfast Buns (Foodness Gracious)

Will someone make me breakfast buns?! I want to dive head-first into this pan!

Cherry Pie Ice Cream (Chocolate Moosey)

Ahh I love this, all the awesome flavors but without the hassle of making a pie.

Cookies n’ Cream Extreme Brownies (Crazy for Crust)

I am such a sucker for another cookies and cream, so I would absolutely devour these brownies.

Frozen Samoa Pie (My Baking Addiction)

This might be the best-looking dessert I have seen in quite some time. Totally craving it now!

Individual Strawberry Crumbles (Fork Knife Swoon)

I eat a lot of fresh strawberries during the summer, but I don’t do much baking with them… I need to change that!

Have a delicious weekend!
