%20%20But%20the%20only%20pasta%20dish%20I%20really%20really%20really%20like%20is%20this%20one.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETonight%20I%20made%20the%20same%20basic%20recipe,%20but%20instead%20of%20asparagus%20I%20used%20brussel%20sprouts.%20%20I%20ate%20these%20once%20as%20a%20kid,%20and%20my%20sister%20and%20I%20swallowed%20them%20whole%20so%20we%20would%20look%20polite%20at%20the%20table%20without%20actually%20having%20to%20taste%20them!%20%20Back%20then%20they%20were%20just%20boiled,%20but%20when%20I%20attempted%20cooking%20them%20for%20the%20first%20time%20last%20year,%20my%20Facebook%20fans%20suggested%20saut%C3%A9eing%20them%20in%20butter,%20braising%20them%20in%20white%20wine,%20and%20serving%20them%20with%20bacon.%20%20(My%20Facebook%20fans%20are%20wonderful!)%20%20Now%20it's%20one%20of%20my%20favourite%20side%20dishes,%20and%20it%20was%20the%20perfect%20combination%20for%20this%20newly-improved%20version%20of%20my%20favourite%20pasta%20recipe:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20frying%20pan,%20brown%20the%20bacon%20and%20then%20set%20aside.%20%20Remove%20almost%20all%20of%20the%20bacon%20grease%20from%20the%20pan,%20then%20add%20some%20butter%20along%20with%20the%20brussel%20sprouts%20and%20mushrooms.%20%20Brown%20the%20vegetables%20for%20a%20few%20minutes%20and%20then%20add%20some%20white%20wine%20to%20deglaze%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20pan,%20scraping%20up%20all%20the%20brown%20bits.%20%20Reduce%20heat,%20cover,%20and%20simmer%20until%20tender.%20%20Season%20wtih%20salt%20&%20pepper%20(optional%20-%20I%20didn't%20use%20any%20S&P).%20%20Stir%20in%20alfredo%20sauce%20and%20parmesan%20cheese%20and%20heat%20through%20before%20pouring%20over%20pasta.%20%20Serve%20pasta%20on%20a%20plate%20and%20then%20garnish%20with%20fresh%20tomatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20that%20up%20with%20a%20side%20of%20garlic%20toast,%20and%20you%20owe%20me%20$15!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
