The Journey of a Foodie

I really love talking about food. Duh, after all this is a food blog. My obsession with health and how food affects health is growing day by day. I am a strong believer that good food is essential for good health. That’s why I strive to eat a balanced diet, include lots of fruits and vegetables in my meals and reduce meat consumption to once a week. I have been doing lots of self educating on GMO’s and fully support and follow an Organic lifestyle as much as possible. I must admit I have developed a true passion for understanding what is in my produce, where does my meat and fish come from and what goes in my body. I live by a new rule – “I’d rather spend my money on groceries than on prescriptions” Being in a social environment all day I talk to a lot of people. It amazes me how many have health issues. Yet when I ask them what they eat, 90% of the time it’s pure junk. What so many people consider healthy, in fact is not healthy at all. It’s unfortunate that the food industry deceptive labeling has forced us to believe that products labeled natural, low fat, reduced calorie, etc are good products. But in reality few people bother to turn the package and read the list of ingredients. Even that can’t be trusted. I believe is self education. Knowledge is powerful. My focus is to understand the benefits that each fruit and vegetable provides. In addition to wanting to reduce my risk for heart decease, diabetes, cancer and other serious illnesses I look for the beauty properties that they supply. After all what woman does not want to have great skin, beautiful hair and great nails. Being a relatively new blogger, I love discovering new passions and develop new interests but most of all I love seeing how much my eating habits have changed ever since I started this blog. What a great way to document my journey – the journey of a foodie. I feel I have grown as a person and I want to thank all my readers for reading the blog, posting comments and showing support. It’s the little things that keep inspiring and motivating me. You can also follow me on Facebook or Instagram
