People of South East London, listen up (particularly those likely to wake up with a hangover come the weekend). Do you know that you can get breakfast delivered to your actual (actual) doorstep on Saturday and Sunday mornings? Seriously. The Breakfast Company will do this. The idea came from the brain of a bloke called Niki Byrne, for the reason you might imagine – he was feeling rough one morning and wanted someone to bring him a fry up. He got together with his best mate and brother and made it happen and they now cover much more of South East London and some of South West, although I can only vouch for the service in Peckham and Camberwell, where I am close to their kitchen.

.%20Do%20you%20know%20that%20you%20can%20get%20breakfast%20delivered%20to%20your%20actual%20(actual)%20doorstep%20on%20Saturday%20and%20Sunday%20mornings?%20Seriously.%20The%20Breakfast%20Company%20will%20do%20this.%20The%20idea%20came%20from%20the%20brain%20of%20a%20bloke%20called%20Niki%20Byrne,%20for%20the%20reason%20you%20might%20imagine%20%E2%80%93%20he%20was%20feeling%20rough%20one%20morning%20and%20wanted%20someone%20to%20bring%20him%20a%20fry%20up.%20He%20got%20together%20with%20his%20best%20mate%20and%20brother%20and%20made%20it%20happen%20and%20they%20now%20cover%20much%20more%20of%20South%20East%20London%20and%20some%20of%20South%20West,%20although%20I%20can%20only%20vouch%20for%20the%20service%20in%20Peckham%20and%20Camberwell,%20where%20I%20am%20close%20to%20their%20kitchen.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20though,%20what%20a%20service%20it%20is.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20tried%20quite%20a%20few%20of%20the%20dishes%20they%20offer%20now,%20and%20the%20quality%20is%20high.%20This%20morning%20for%20example,%20I%20enjoyed%20a%20full%20English,%20including%20sausage,%20bacon,%20mushroom,%20bubble,%20black%20pudding%20and%20a%20fried%20egg%20that%20was%20STILL%20RUNNY.%20It%20came%20with%20a%20tamarind-heavy%20pot%20of%20home%20made%20brown%20sauce%20and%20a%20mixed%20berry%20smoothie%20that%20was%20actually%20lovely%20instead%20of%20tasting%20either%20entirely%20of%20banana%20or%20like%20someone%20has%20blitzed%20a%20bag%20of%20Iceland%20frozen%20forest%20fruits.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20do%20sort%20of%20homage%20to%20ackee%20and%20salt%20fish%20but%20with%20scrambled%20eggs%20and%20mackerel,%20which%20comes%20with%20plaintain%20and%20%E2%80%93%20wait%20for%20it%20%E2%80%93%20they%20actually%20know%20how%20to%20cook%20the%20plantain%20properly.%20So%20many%20people%20don%E2%80%99t%20which%20is%20why%20it%20is%20often%20disgusting.%20Plantains%20are%20very%20sweet%20and%20they%20need%20to%20be%20cooked%20with%20some%20acidity,%20in%20which%20case%20they%20become%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99ve%20also%20tried%20the%20huevos%20rancheros,%20which%20arrive%20with%20some%20impossibly%20tasty%20chorizo%20sausages%20(though%20the%20guac%20needs%20work),%20and%20also%20a%20bacon,%20egg,%20cheese%20and%20hash%20brown%20muffin.%20A%20grumble:%20they%20haven%E2%80%99t%20worked%20out%20how%20to%20keep%20the%20egg%20runny%20in%20the%20muffin%20yet,%20but%20tell%20me%20they%20are%20working%20on%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%E2%80%99s%20surprising%20about%20The%20Breakfast%20Company%20is%20the%20quality%20of%20the%20food;%20so%20many%20people%20could%20come%20up%20with%20this%20concept%20and%20then%20make%20a%20half-arsed%20attempt,%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20easy%20to%20see%20they%20really%20care%20about%20it.%20Most%20ingredients%20are%20sourced%20locally%20or%20made%20made%20in%20house.%20They%E2%80%99re%20also%20very%20intensely%20cheery%20when%20they%20come%20to%20the%20door.%20%20Oh%20and%20they%E2%80%99ll%20pick%20up%20a%20paper%20for%20you%20on%20the%20way.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20word%20of%20advice%20though%20guys,%20you%20gotta%20change%20that%20website.%20There%E2%80%99s%20just%20a%20space%20to%20write%20out%20your%20order%20rather%20than%20tick%20box%20options,%20which%20means%20that%20every%20time%20you%20inevitably%20forget%20what%20you%20want,%20have%20to%20go%20back%20to%20the%20menu,%20at%20which%20point%20your%20entire%20order%20is%20lost%20and%20you%20have%20to%20start%20again.%20Still,%20that%E2%80%99s%20easy%20to%20solve%20with%20a%20bit%20of%20tinkering%20(read:%20paying%20someone%20to%20sort%20it%20out)%20and%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20small%20price%20for%20what%20will%20surely%20be%20the%20saviour%20of%20many%20a%20person%20too%20busy%20piecing%20together%20the%20events%20of%20the%20night%20previous%20to%20even%20begin%20thinking%20about%20how%20they%20can%20feed%20themselves.%20Me?%20I%E2%80%99m%20just%20a%20lazy%20cow%20who%20likes%20having%20breakfast%20delivered%20to%20my%20door,%20and%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20see%20anything%20wrong%20with%20that.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://www.thebreakfastcompany.co.uk/%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
