Thai Yellow Curry Paste Recipe
A popular curry paste used in Thai food, this homemade Thai Yellow Curry Paste is quick and easy to make. Refer to the notes on how to make Thai Red Curry Paste.
Ingredients:
Yellow Chillies – 3 to 4, chopped
- Turmeric – 1 tblsp, grated
- Ginger – 1/2 tblsp, grated
- Garlic – 2 to 3 cloves, chopped
- Lemongrass – 1/2 stalk, chopped
- Sambar Onions (Shallots) – 2, chopped
- Tamarind Paste – 1/2 tlsp
- Coriander Seeds – 1/2 tblsp
- Mustard Powder – 1/2 tblsp
- Peanut Oil – 1 1/2 tblsp
- Brown Sugar – 1/2 tblsp
- White Vinegar – 3 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
Method:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a mixer jar.
2. Grind to a fine paste.
3. Transfer to a fridge safe jar.
4. Cover and keep it in the fridge.
5. Use as required.
Note: For Thai Red Curry Paste, substitute yellow chillies with red chillies and add 1 tblsp tomato paste.
