What a wild week it's been with my hectic work schedule! Next Tuesday, I begin my vacation until January 3rd. Today, I managed to get the tree and house decorated. I was feeling a time crunch to write a review for Artisan Bakeware and for Tate's Bake Shop. Last week, I received a lovely small unglazed loaf pan from Artisan Bakeware.I have only a few pieces of stoneware, and I have to say that I liked the feel of this American hand-painted baking product.
Right after Thanksgiving, I received this lovely package in the mail, from Tate's Bakery:

.%20%20I%20ate%20two%20each%20of%20the%20chocolate%20chip%20cookies,%20oatmeal%20raisin%20and%20macadamia%20nut%20(in%20a%20three-day%20period).%20%20I'm%20going%20to%20talk%20more%20about%20which%20cookies%20we%20liked%20best%20when%20I%20do%20post%20a%20Tates%20Bake%20Shop%20giveaway%20(my%20next%20post,%20I%20promise)%20and%20that%20is%20when%20I%20will%20give%20one%20lucky%20reader%20a%20chance%20to%20win%20the%20same%20cookie%20package,%20and%20cookbook,%20%20for%20your%20%20own%20home.%20Today,%20I%20want%20to%20be%20fair%20to%20Artisan%20Bakeware,%20by%20focusing%20on%20reviewing%20how%20their%20product%20worked%20.%20%20Fortunately,%20I%20found%20a%20recipe%20for%20Double%20Berry%20Crumb%20Muffins%20on%20page%2014%20of%20the%20Tate's%20Bake%20Shop%20Cookbook.%20%20I%20decided%20to%20double%20the%20recipe%20so%20that%20I%20could%20bake%20a%20%22tea%20loaf%22.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20I%20live%20in%20California,%20we%20grown%20our%20own%20olallieberries%20in%20our%20backyard.%20%20I%20also%20buy%20extra%20from%20a%20local%20farm%20stand,%20and%20then%20freeze%20them%20in%202%20cup%20increments.%20%20Chinese%20take-out%20style%20boxes%20are%20perfect%20for%20this:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20do%20a%20quick%20thaw%20with%20running%20water...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20are%20the%20dry%20ingredients:%20%20unbleached%20flour,%20sugar,%20salt%20and%20baking%20powder.%20%20I%20reserved%20some%20of%20the%20flour%20and%20sprinkled%20them%20over%20the%20berries.%20%20I%20do%20this%20so%20that%20the%20berries%20won't%20sink%20to%20the%20bottom%20of%20each%20muffin.Melt%201/2%20cup%20of%20butter.%20%20(You%20see%20two%20sticks,%20because%20I'm%20doubling%20the%20recipe.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20streusel%20has%20chopped%20pecans,%20brown%20sugar,%20flour,%20butter%20and%20fresh%20orange%20zest.%20%20Set%20that%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20wet%20ingredients%20are%20milk,%20eggs%20and%20the%20melted%20butter.%20%20Whisk%20them%20together,%20and%20add%20to%20the%20dry%20ingredients.%20Mix%20the%20wet%20and%20dry%20just%20until%20combined;%20don't%20over%20mix.%20%20Gently%20fold%20the%20berries%20in.%20%20You%20can%20grease%20a%20muffin%20tin,%20but%20I%20decided%20to%20use%20muffin%20liners.%20This%20is%20my%20large%20muffin%20tin,%20which%20makes%20six%20at%20a%20time.%20Top%20each%20muffin%20with%20the%20streusel.%20NOTE:%20Next%20time,%20I'll%20add%20double%20the%20amount%20of%20streusel.Bake%20at%20400F%20for%2020-24%20minutes.%20%20My%20muffins%20were%20extra-large,%20so%20they%20took%20a%20little%20extra%20time.%20%20A%20tip%20I%20learned%20from%20King%20Arthur%20Flour--%20tip%20the%20muffins%20to%20one%20side%20so%20that%20they%20don't%20become%20soggy%20on%20the%20bottom.%20%20After%20a%20few%20minutes,%20move%20them%20to%20a%20cooling%20rack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E...%20and%20here's%20the%20muffin%20recipe%20as%20a%20sweet%20loaf%20of%20goodness.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETaking%20a%20deep%20breath,%20I%20rotated%20the%20pan%20and%20the%20loaf%20slipped%20right%20out!%20%20For%20the%20final%20test,%20I%20wondered%20how%20easy%20this%20unglazed%20loaf%20pan%20would%20be%20to%20clean...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEffortless!%20%20Just%20like%20new!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPOTTERY%20REVIEW:%20%20I%20strive%20%20to%20be%20respectful%20to%20my%20planet,%20my%20country%20and%20my%20health.%20%20Emmerson%20Creek%20Pottery%20is%20American%20made.%20Their%20products%20are%20lead-free%20and%20they're%20hand-painted.%20%20This%20loaf%20pan%20retails%20for%20$11.00%20on%20their%20website.%20%20My%20wish%20list--%20and%20that%20means%20I'd%20love%20to%20own%20more%20of%20this%20product--%20would%20be%20the%20larger%20loaf%20pan,%20that%20retails%20for%20$19.00.%20%20If%20wishes%20were%20fishes,%20I'd%20want%20the%20unglazed%20deep%20dish%20pizza%20pan,%20retail%20price%20$23.00.%20%20I%20spent%20some%20time%20perusing%20their%20website,%20and%20I%20took%20a%20particular%20liking%20to%20their%20lavender%20hand%20painted%20design.%20%20I%20think%20that%20any%20of%20these%20pieces%20would%20make%20a%20beautiful%20heirloom%20that%20will%20last%20for%20many%20years%20to%20come.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20Review:%20%20I%20love%20to%20bake%20homemade%20muffins%20for%20breakfast.%20%20I%20was%20able%20to%20make%20this%20batter%20in%2015%20minutes,%20plus%20take%20photographs.%20%20This%20recipe%20is%20easy%20enough%20for%20beginner%20bakers.%20%20%20The%20texture%20of%20the%20muffins%20were%20moist%20and%20very%20tender.%20%20There%20were%20a%20LOT%20of%20berries,%20so%20decrease%20the%20amount%20if%20you%20prefer%20more%20muffin%20to%20berry%20ratio.%20%20My%20husband%20adores%20berries,%20so%20he%20was%20very%20happy%20with%20the%20way%20I%20made%20them.%20%20The%20cinnamon%20is%20very%20subtle,%20and%20the%20sweetness%20was%20just%20right.%20%20I%20would%20definitely%20layer%20more%20streusel%20on%20top%20(which%20explains%20why%20I%20had%20some%20leftover),%20and%20maybe%20chop%20my%20pecans%20not%20quite%20as%20small%20as%20I%20did%20this%20time%20(I%20cheated%20and%20used%20a%20mini-chopper
