I signed up for the Clarksburg Winery tour pre-conference excursion. It was an undeniably lasting memory for me. I definitely picked one of the best excursions. Wine tasting began at 9:00 a.m. and I didn’t see one person say they thought it was too early in the day for wine. The Sugarmill tour, lunch and special winery tasting carousel were the icing on the cake.
But wait, there’s more.
Friday event we attended the amazing “Taste of Sacramento”. It was, indeed, a flavorful event. There were so many fantastic restaurants and sponsors showcasing their delicious food. I think I was most excited to stop by the California Figs booth. You see, fig season is just way to short for me. I sure hope to find some fresh figs soon. However, you can easily use dried figs too.
There were two types of dried figs in our Swag bags; golden and mission. I decided to try using the golden figs in a smoothie.
The bits of fig in the smoothie and the exotic blend of cardamom with its strong, unique taste, is intensely aromatic, and imparts itself well with the fig bits. The tartness of the cherries pairs perfectly with the strong flavors from the fig and cardamom.
I received a discount on the registration fee for the conference in exchange for a few posts. No other compensation has been received.
