Рецепт Sweet Fire Roasted Pepper Hummus
I saw this question posted on Yahoo Answers.
How to make hummus quickly?
For full disclosure (I sound like the people on the business channel), before this week I had never prepared hummus. Ate a lot of it...but never made it.
However after blending up a batch I did learn one thing about hummus...if you have a can of chickpeas AND a decent blender it's hard NOT to make it quickly.
Yeah, I'm sure there are some fancy over-the-top hummus recipes out there that take time and tender loving care to prepare. But if you're making it to dip pita bread, crackers, cut veggies or your finger into, it's truly a 5 minute cooking experience (10 minutes if you have a sucky blender).
The beauty of it (besides being super healthy) is the chickpeas have little flavor. It's a blank canvas that allows you to create whatever flavor of hummus you want! Cool!
For my first attempt I made this Sweet Fire Roasted Pepper Hummus. Sounds fancier than it really is (just don't tell your friends that if you make it for them).
I had a jar of sweet roasted red peppers that needed to be used so I blended them with the chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper and olive oil. The result is this fancy named recipe that tastes great with pita bread!
I've noticed many hummus recipes call for 2 cloves of garlic. I only used one for the simple reason that I only like a hint of garlic in the food I eat. If you're more in the "I love garlic" camp, you may want to add an extra clove.
What would I say about my first experience making homemade hummus?
Crazy easy to make
Super tasty
AND
The hardest part is cleaning the blender.
