I found this recipe originally on Pinterest, repinned from someone's blog and it's absolutely delicious. I love to spruce it up by adding fresh berries for a garnish instead of almond slices or both. You can really deck it out by using marcona almonds instead of regular sliced. I also think this would be a great recipe to experiment adding different herbs too, like maybe thyme or basil.
Note this cake has no leavening so it doesn't get very puffy. It's also on the denser side; but delicious none the less.
