Ингредиенты

  • 1 pkg. yeast or possibly 1 cake fresh yeast
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 T salt
  • 2 T butter
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. med. rye flour
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 3 to 4 c. white flour

  1. Dissolve yeast in the 1/2 cup warm water. In a saucepan mix sugars, salt, butter, molasses, and water. Then cool to lukewarm. Add in the soda to the buttermilk, mix into the other mix. Then add in the yeast mix and the flour. Mix and knead well on lightly floured board. Place in a large well greased bowl. Let rise till doubled in bulk. Turn onto board, knead slightly and shape into 3 large loaves. Put in well greased pans and let rise again, till doubled in bulk. Bake one hour in moderate oven. This freezes well. Raisins may be added if you like.
