%20than%20many%20you%20will%20find%20in%20stores,%20but%20my%20main%20fascination%20is%20with%20the%20ingredients%20I%20can%20put%20in%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFilling%20our%20versions%20with%20all%20sorts%20of%20healthy%20ingredients%20while%20maintaining%20an%20aura%20of%20sweetness%20has%20sometimes%20been%20a%20challenge.%20%20Not%20so%20with%20this%20Coconut%20version%20though,%20first%20try%20and%20it%20was%20good%20to%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOats%20and%20ground%20flax%20have%20been%20staples%20for%20my%20granolas,%20but%20lately%20I've%20been%20seeing%20granola%20versions%20with%20quinoa.%20%20Quinoa%20in%20granola?%20%20Oh,%20my%20yes!!%20%20Personally,%20I%20love%20a%20good%20crunchy%20granola,%20and%20toasted%20quinoa%20adds%20just%20that.%20%20Bringing%20me%20to%20my%20next%20thought,%20%22What%20about%20Hemp%20Seed?%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHemp%20is%20new%20on%20my%20nutritional%20radar,%20but%20being%20an%20easily%20digestible%20high%20protein%20seed%20containing%20all%20nine%20of%20the%20essential%20amino%20acids%20(just%20like%20flax),%20it's%20quickly%20rising%20on%20my%20favorite%20ingredient%20list.%20%20A%20source%20rich%20in%20phytonutrients,%20hemp%20is%20thought%20to%20bring%20disease-protective%20elements%20including%20boosting%20and%20protecting%20the%20immune%20system,%20bloodstream,%20tissues,%20cells%20and%20organs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20is%20hemp%20safe??%20%20My%20husband's%20first%20question%20wondered%20why%20I%20was%20bringing%20marijuana%20into%20our%20pantry,%20but%20my%20prior%20research%20put%20his%20mind%20immediately%20at%20ease%20when%20I%20explained%20that%20hemp%20is%20THC-free,%20and%20while%20it%20is%20indeed%20part%20of%20the%20cannabis%20family,%20it%20is%20safe%20and%20drug%20free%20(I%20found%20this%20article%20from%20The%20Nourishing%20Gourmet%20to%20be%20great%20source%20of%20information%20with%20links%20to%20even%20more%20info).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20back%20to%20our%20granola...%20now%20filled%20with%20oats,%20flax,%20quinoa%20and%20hemp,%20we%20needed%20sweetness,%20or%20what%20I%20call%20%22the%20goodies%22.%20%20The%20goodies%20are%20sometimes%20my%20favorite%20part%20of%20the%20granola%20as%20they%20lend%20a%20burst%20of%20flavor%20and%20sweetness%20to%20each%20bite.%20%20Another%20new%20to%20me%20ingredients,%20the%20superfood%20Goldenberries,%20made%20its%20bursting%20with%20flavor%20way%20into%20this%20concoction.%20%20Filled%20with%20vital%20nutrients%20including%20beta-carotene,%20protein,%20bioflavinoids%20and%20vitamin%20A,%20Goldenberries%20are%20my%20new%20%22grab%20and%20go%20snack%22.%20%20With%20their%20sweet/tart%20flavor,%20the%20chewy%20dried%20berries%20became%20the%20perfect%20finishing%20touch%20to%20our%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESuper%20in%20taste%20as%20well%20as%20nutrition,%20granola%20is%20here%20to%20stay.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESuper%20Coconut%20Quinoa%20Granola%20with%20Hemp%20and%20Goldenberries%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFilled%20with%20superfoods%20(quinoa,%20flax,%20hemp%20and%20goldenberries)%20in%20addition%20to%20heart%20healthy%20oatmeal%20and%20walnuts,%20this%20granola%20makes%20an%20ideal%20snack%20whether%20it's%20eaten%20out%20of%20hand%20or%20as%20a%20topping%20to%20your%20favorite%20yogurt%20parfait.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehandful%20of%20goldenberries%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%C2%BA.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeasure%20the%20oatmeal,%20quinoa,%20flax%20meal,%20hemp%20and%20cinnamon%20into%20a%20large%20bowl.%20%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20the%20coconut%20oil%20if%20it%20is%20solid%20(a%20few%20seconds%20in%20the%20micro%20should%20do%20the%20trick!).%20%20Set%20aside.%20%20In%20a%20medium%20bowl%20add%20the%20egg%20white,%20salt,%20vanilla,%20maple%20syrup%20and%20brown%20sugar,%20whisk%20until%20well%20combined.%20%20Add%20the%20egg%20white/sugar%20mixture%20to%20the%20oatmeal%20mixture%20and%20stir%20a%20time%20or%20two,%20then%20add%20the%20melted%20coconut%20oil%20(I%20found%20if%20I%20added%20the%20warm%20coconut%20oil%20to%20the%20cold%20egg%20it%20hardened,%20hence%20we%20made%20two%20steps%20out%20of%20it).%20%20Stir%20all%20the%20ingredients%20together%20to%20evenly%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20oat%20mixture%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eonto%20an%20oiled%20jelly%20roll%20pan,%20spreading%20evenly%20with%20a%20spatula.%20%20Place%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ein%20the%20pre-heated%20oven.%20%20Stir%20after%2015%20minutes,%20making%20sure%20to%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eincorporate%20the%20edges%20into%20the%20center%20(the%20edges%20will%20brown%20faster)%20of%20the%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20and%20stir%20again%20after%20another%207%20minutes%20or%20so.%20%20At%20this%20point%20our%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egranola%20needed%20another%204%20minutes%20to%20become%20perfectly%20browned.%20%20Keep%20an%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eeye%20on%20yours%20as%20it%20can%20go%20from%20nicely%20browned%20to%20perfectly%20burnt%20in%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eflash!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egranola%20from%20oven%20when%20nicely%20browned%20and%20immediately%20add%20the%20dried%20fruits,%20coconut%20and%20walnuts.%2
