Рецепт Sugar Cookie Witch Fingers {Halloween}
by CookingLib

Halloween is creeping up on us. Can ya believe it? Decorating for this crazy time of the year isn't really my forte', I'm more of a fall/autumn decorator. However, I do enjoy making scary treats every year and taking our children trick or treating.

My love for making ghastly treats started six years ago when I came across another fellow military spouse who enjoyed making Halloween treats for her family. Her joy for this hobby was VERY addictive and before I knew it, I found myself making them as well. My family can't wait to see what I have brewing up for them every year around this time.

These witch fingers will make a great addition to your Halloween menu or party. My children and their friends LOVED these. They thought they were "gross" but "cool" at the same time. I think that pretty much sums it up!

The key to making this recipe is flour….and lots of it. Flour helps the cookies keep that "finger" form while baking. Finding a tutorial with pictures on how to make these proved to be difficult so I decided to make one for you guys.

1. Mix your sugar cookie dough with 1 cup of flour and 3 teaspoons of water. On a slightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 7 minutes.

2. With a 1/8 measuring cup, scoop out one section of the dough. Roll the dough into a worm like line.

3. With your finger, make a small indention on the right end.

4. Make another indention in the middle.

5. A few inches about the middle indention, take your fingers and slightly pinch the sides. This will form the little "puff" under the nail.

6. Take an almond piece and place it on the left end. Slightly press it down.

7. With the back of a knife, score the following into the dough: 2 scores underneath the fingernail, 3 scores inside the middle indention, and 2 scores inside the right indention.

8. Place dough fingers onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If wanting to place moles onto the fingers, place the pointed end of a chocolate chip above the middle scores (not pictures). Bake for 15-20 minutes. Once out of the oven, press the almond pieces deeper into the fingers to create a cuticle effect (not pictured). Let the fingers cool.

9. Once cooled, take a small brush and dip it into 1 tbsp. of cocoa powder. Brush the scores with the powder to create a life like effect.

Easy peasy huh?

Your children will LOVE you for this recipe! I kid you not!

Now get to baking……..
