Sugar Cookie Bars

If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I LOVE sugar cookies and my family loves them even more. Not once, but at least twice a week somebody asks or begs me to make sugar cookies, and if you’ve read this blog for any length of time, you will know that I don’t do a lot of putsy stuff and sugar cookies (because they HAVE to be frosted and decorated) fall under the putsy stuff category.

Now sugar cookie BARS on the other hand are just as delicious but not putsy at all, you could make them every day if you wanted and not stress yourself in the least! So come on, let’s make some sugar cookie bars and enjoy ourselves…are you with me? **knock, knock** this thing on??

Sugar Cookie Bars

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease a large jelly pan. In a mixer, cream the butter and sugar together. Then add eggs 1 at a time until incorporated, but don’t over mix. Add vanilla. Then slowly add the flour, salt and baking soda. Pour into the pan and spread it out using your hands. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until slightly golden. Let cool.

FROSTING:

4 cups of powdered sugar and add milk to it by the tablespoonful until creamy. Add food coloring if you so desire.
