Рецепт Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle {Recipe}
This Strawberry Trifle is the dessert that my husband requested for his birthday this year. I usually set aside a few strawberries for garnish, but this time Rachel got to them and I didn't have enough. That girl loves strawberries! If you have strawberry loving kids at your house, you might want to buy extra. The trifle really is prettier with strawberries on top. Sheesh.
As trifles go, this recipe is pretty simple. Layers of juicy berries, layers of creamy cheesecake filling, and layers of tender cake. But don't let the simpleness fool you, this stuff is amazing! I've never met anyone who doesn't love trifle!
- Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle
- 1 1/2-2 pounds fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 8oz packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
- 2 1/2 cups cream, whipped
- 1 loaf pound cake
Reserve a few strawberries to garnish the top of your trifle. You might want to make sure and put them out of reach of the two year old. Ahem. Slice the strawberries and toss with the 1/2 cup sugar. Set aside. Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Beat in the powdered sugar and orange juice concentrate, beat till smooth. Whip the cream till soft peaks form, then fold it into the cream cheese mixture. Cut the pound cake into 1" cubes. (I like to cut off the end pieces first.)
To assemble: In a trifle dish or glass bowl, layer 1/3 of the cake cubes, 1/3 of the cream mixture, 1/2 of the berries. Repeat. Then add the remaining cake cubes and top with the remaining cream. Garnish with strawberries if desired.
