Рецепт Stove Top Creamy Mac-n-Cheese
Sunday evenings are mostly dull and bore. Nothing to watch
on T.V. and sometimes no where to go….gearing up to another week everyone at home
wants to relax on Sunday evening. To kill the boredom I thought I will upload
and check the pictures which I took in the afternoon before lunch. Though I
always make it a point to transfer the pictures to my desktop and check them immediately
after the photo-shoot…I was fully tired and hungry by the time I completed
the shoot…so I rushed to table to have my lunch….
Rain was accompanying the dull and boring Sunday evening…cloudy
sky and cool breeze are making the scene more dramatic….Plugging the cord to
desktop, I transferred the pictures from my camera. Slowly started checking out
by deleting the blurred pictures….My mobile rang and it was my friend ‘L’…I was
quite surprised to see her name blinking on the screen….It’s been long time she
has called me…though we had e-mail chat once in a while….There was rush in her
voice….
I wondered what happened and asked her…she directly came to
the point…and said…I need a good food photo from you…can you help me out….? She
is interior designer by profession and she designs or remodels dinning and
kitchen space for clients. And now I was wondering what to say…as I don’t even
know what she is looking for…being some 1000 miles away from me….Without any
gap she said…she is designing a dining area for a client who is her friend’s
friend….and who wants some food pictures hanging around in the dining area. The
food pictures should be real not the regular fruit or vegetable basket posters…
And’ L’ said the only person who came to her mind was me and
was she was fully confident that I will help her out….So there is no room to
escape….I am trapped….I told her…I am just browsing through today’s photo-shoot
and if she would be interested to check them out…I started sharing my desktop
showing on pictures through skype and when she saw a picture with empty bowl
and fork…she asked me to pause for sometime and then she said…mail me the
picture….So I did…and in no time she has sent me the picture making some digital
changes and giving the border to the picture as it would look when it got
framed on the wall….with the caption ‘Framing your food blog adventures’..….and
it left me happy and blushing….clearing the cloudy grey skies and bringing the
sunshine making my Sunday blissful.
Coming to today’s recipe….it is my and Lil’M‘s favourite recipe.
It has got all of my favourite ingredients like cheese, macaroni and oregano.
Nothing complicated…this simple recipe is something which I make more often
these days…as Lil’M loves to have cheesy macaroni most of the time…..
- 2 cups uncooked Elbow macaroni
- 3 tbsp. Butter
- 1½ cups + ¼ cup Milk
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
- ½ tbsp. Pepper
- ¼ tbsp. Oregano
- ¼ tbsp. Red chili flakes
- Salt
- Bring a large pot of water to boil and cook macaroni as per
the instructions on the packet.
In the meantime, melt butter in a saucepan over low flame
and add milk, grated cheese, salt, pepper and oregano. Combine well. Give the sauce
a gentle boil and turn off the flame.
When the macaroni is cooked, turn off the flame and drain
excess water using colander. Now pour in the above sauce and mix gently.
If you feel the mixture is thick enough then add extra ¼ cup
reserved milk. Gently stir on low flame till macaroni is completely coated with
sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes by covering with a lid and serve hot.
Last but not least add love to make this recipe taste ‘Yummy’.
You can add sun dried tomatoes to enhance the taste of the
recipe.
You can even add red chili flakes
You can even use beaten eggs to the sauce for much creamier
version.
You can toss the macaroni with roasted bread crumbs in the
final stage of cooking.
You can even choose from Swiss, Mozzarella, Gouda, Parmesan,
etc., cheese varieties. But just remember every cheese varies in salt and
flavour level.
Instead of oregano and pepper I sprinkled spiced curry leaf
powder i.e. with Karivepaku Karam Podi….and it tasted ‘yummmmmm’.
