Рецепт Steak Pizzaiola Open Face Sandwiches
I managed to catch my son’s cold. Usually I am the one in the family who can fight off a cold, or get a mild version of it. Not this time! My 8 year old was sick for a day and a half. I am on day 3, and still lacking energy. Thankfully my husband has helped out with dinner the last couple nights, so I could just relax. I am ready to start feeling better and have more energy though, because I have some baking and dinner ideas I want to try!
Sick or not, I am all about quick dinner ideas. I have an 8 year old who has homework, sports practice, clubs, and other activities during the week. So once we get home for the day, I don’t really want to spend hours cooking dinner. I like to have a few go to dinners for busy weeknights. That way we can eat at a decent time, and still have time to relax and spend time together before bedtime. Sandwiches are a quick dinner, but they can get boring pretty quickly! These steak pizzaiola sandwiches really take sandwich night to a new level.
These open face sandwiches are so quick and easy for a weeknight meal. Pizzaiola is an Italian dish, usually steak, served in a “pizza style” This version slices steak, and serves it over crusty bread for an open face sandwich. It is topped with cheese that gets all melty and gooey in the oven. It has all the elements of true comfort food, but it actually pretty good for you! If you don’t have steak you could use chicken, pork, or even turkey. All would pair well with the Italian style tomato sauce and gooey cheese.
