%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDove%20Creek,%20Colorado,%2081324%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPhone:%20(970)%20677-2649%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFacebook%20Page:%20https://www.facebook.com/pages/Stateline-Bar-Grill/1415288995407657%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20seven%20years,%20a%20rustic%20building%20sat%20alone%20and%20lonely%20along%20Route%20491;%20it%20had%20once%20been%20a%20bar/restaurant/antiques%20shop,%20but%20no%20longer%20was%20it%20loved.%20%20Then%20came%20along%20Tim%20and%20Shelly%20Meyer%20to%20breathe%20life%20back%20into,%20not%20just%20the%20building,%20but%20business%20along%20this%20stretch%20of%20highway%20bordering%20Utah%20and%20Colorado.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20a%20long%20day%20at%20work,%20hubby%20and%20I%20decided%20to%20finally%20try%20out%20State%20Line%20for%20a%20much%20deserved%20dinner%20out;%20thank%20goodness%20we%20did!%20%20First%20off,%20the%20parking%20lot%20was%20almost%20full%20with%20license%20plates%20of%20both%20Utah%20and%20Colorado;%20the%20locals%20liking%20this%20place%20says%20a%20lot%20around%20here.%20%20We%20found%20an%20empty%20spot%20in%20front%20of%20the%20bar%20and%20it%20was%20busy!%20%20There%20is%20a%20separate%20entrance%20for%20the%20restaurant%20as%20you%20walk%20towards%20the%20right%20of%20the%20building.%20%20We%20were%20greeted%20cheerfully%20and%20told%20to%20sit%20anywhere%20we%20wanted%20to;%20specials%20are%20on%20a%20board%20in%20front%20of%20the%20reception%20stand.%20%20Shelbee%20was%20our%20waitress%20(she%20is%20the%20niece%20of%20Shelly%20Meyer)%20and%20we%20tested%20her%20out%20immediately%20with%20some%20sass;%20she%20sassed%20us%20right%20back%20and%20knew%20we%20had%20a%20good%20waitress%20helping%20us.%20%20Shelbee%20answered%20all%20our%20questions%20without%20having%20to%20check%20with%20the%20cook;%20she%20knew%20her%20stuff%20well.%20%20After%20placing%20our%20orders,%20I%20began%20taking%20photos%20of%20the%20interior;%20there%20were%20also%20present%20other%20couples%20and%20families%20with%20children.%20%20Yes,%20this%20is%20a%20family%20friendly%20restaurant;%20but%20if%20you%20decide%20to%20go%20into%20the%20bar,%20you%20can%20order%20food%20in%20there%20also.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERestaurant%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFood%20time!%20%20Now%20besides%20the%20specials%20board,%20State%20Line%20has%20a%20five%20page%20menu;%20it%20has%20typical%20bar%20food,%20but%20so%20much%20more!%20%20Many%20of%20the%20items%20are%20house%20made,%20some%20not,%20but%20they%20are%20cooked%20up%20so%20well%20that%20you%20have%20a%20difficult%20time%20telling.%20%20We%20ordered%20the%20Fried%20Mozzarella%20Sticks%20and%20Italian%20Breaded%20Zucchini;%20two%20items%20we%20thought%20were%20house%20made,%20but%20were%20fooled.%20%20The%20marinara%20and%20buttermilk%20ranch%20sauces%20are%20though,%20and%20they%20were%20delicious!%20%20The%20marinara%20has%20loads%20of%20garlic%20and%20is%20thicker%20than%20what%20is%20usually%20served%20with%20an%20appetizer.%20%20My%20hubby%20also%20had%20the%20buttermilk%20ranch%20on%20his%20dinner%20salad%20and%20it%20was%20hard%20not%20to%20lick%20the%20plate%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFried%20MozzarellaItalian%20Breaded%20ZucchiniDinner%20Salad%20with%20House%20Made%20Buttermilk%20Ranch%20Dressing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20came%20the%20main%20dishes,%20Fettuccine%20Alfredo%20with%20Grilled%20Chicken%20for%20me;%20Ribeye%20Steak%20and%20sweet%20potato%20for%20my%20husband;%20both%20meals%20came%20with%20grilled%20zucchini.%20%20The%20steak%20was%20perfectly%20cooked;%20a%20huge%2012%20ounces%20(lean,%20very%20little%20fat)%20that%20almost%20filled%20up%20the%20cast%20iron%20skillet%20it%20was%20served%20on.%20%20The%20chicken%20was%20also%20grilled%20and%20had%20so%20much%20flavor;%20the%20grilled%20zucchini%20was%20a%20very%20welcome%20vegetable;%20we're%20so%20tired%20of%20the%20typical%20steamed%20or%20microwaved%20limp%20veggies%20most%20places%20serve%20up.%20%20The%20Fettuccine%20Alfredo%20was%20buttery%20rich,%20pasta%20cooked%20perfectly%20and%20the%20chicken%20was%20an%20excellent%20addition%20to%20it.%20%20Now%20the%20sweet%20potato%20has%20its%20own%20story;%20nicely%20baked%20and%20good%20plain;%20better%20with%20butter;%20but%20the%20best%20was%20the%20house%20made%20cinnamon%20butter.%20%20Talk%20about%20a%20mouthful%20of%20pleasure!%20%20The%20portions%20are%20generous%20and%20we%20ended%20up%20taking%20some%20of%20each%20meal%20home.Fettuccine%20Alfredo%20with%20Grilled%20ChickenRibeye%20Steak%20with%20Sweet%20Potato%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20wait,%20there's%20more...dessert!%20%20We%20were%20too%20full%20to%20eat%20it%20at%20State%20Line,%20so%20took%20it%20home%20for%20a%20late%20time%20snack.%20%20Most%20desserts%20are%20not%20house%20made,%20but%20purchased%20from%20a%20coffee%20establishment%20in%20Dove%20Creek%20where%20they%20are%20made%20fresh.%20%20%20Cr%C3%A8me%20Brulee%20Cheesecake%20which%20was%20thick,%20rich%20and%20decadent.%20%20Zango%20which%20is%20a%20deep%20fried%20burrito%20filled%20with%20cheesecake...party%20in%20the%20mouth!Cr%C3%A8me%20Brulee%20CheesecakeZango%20-%20Deep%20Fried%20Cheesecake%20Burrito%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EState%20Line%20Bar%20&%20Grill%20is%20only%20open%20Thursday%20through%20Sunday%20which%20is%20great%20for%20the%20area%20on%20Sunday%20when%20most%20of%20the%20towns%20close%20up%20tighter%20than%20a%20duck%20in%20water.%20%20The%20restaurant%20hours%20are%2011%20am%20to%209%20pm;%20the%20bar%20is%2011%20am%20until...?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EState%20Line%20is%20a%20must%20try%20place!%20%20Great%20for%20a%20rest%20and%20good%20bite%20of%20food;%20great%20to%20pick%20up%20food%20and%20take%20on%20your%20trip;%20just%20great.%20%20Oh,%20there%20are%20t-shirts%20for%20sale%20with%20the%20State%20Line%20logo%20on%20the%20front%20and%20a%20saying%20on%20the%20back.%20%22Ever%20been%20to%20Nowhere?%20Now%20you%20have!%22%20%20We%20like%20eating%20at%20this%20Nowhere.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMary%20Cokenour%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
