- In a dutch oven over medium heat, saute onions and garlic in olive oil
- Add water, tomato sauce and paste, parsley, basil, salt and pepper bring to a boil
- reduce heat, cover and simer for 50 minutes
- Combine all ingredients for meatballs in a large bowl (except vegetable oil) and mix well
- shape into 1 1/2 inch meatballs
- In a skillet over medium heat brown meatballs in vegetable oil, drain
- Add to sauce and bring to a boil
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour
- stirring occasionally
- serve over spaghetti
