Our challenge for the month of April is Pasta!
I have never made sourdough pasta before and I have to admit, it was easier than I expected. The results were delicious!
I decided to serve my pasta masterpiece in the way that I love to eat pasta....simple! I also wanted to taste the flavor of the sourdough and it was wonderful. Hope you enjoy my modest and simple version of sourdough pasta.
- Rustic Sourdough Pasta~ recipe from: The Gingered Whisk
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter
- 1.5 cups flour
- 2 eggs
- Zesty Italian Salad Dressing
- Parmesan cheese
Pour the starter into a mixing bowl. Add the flour and egg. Mix until it forms a ball. Allow the dough to sit on the counter for a few hours or overnight. It won't rise much, if at all.
Dump the ball out onto a floured counter. Roll out as thin as possible. Slice into thin strips or other shape.
You can now either boil them immediately to eat or allow to dry out on the counter, I let them dry out on the counter.
Serve: Boil noodles in salted boiling water, 5 mins, it won't take long, Sprinkle with Zesty Italian Salad dressing and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
