%20who%20offered%20to%20share%20an%20e-book%20about%20sourdough%20starters%20and%20bread.%20If%20anyone%20is%20interested%20in%20the%20Northwest%20Sourdough%20e-book,%20You%20can%20purchase%20the%20e-books%20(for%20a%20modest%20price...and%20I%20highly%20recommend%20each%20book.%20Soooo%20worth%20every%20penny)%20from%20http://www.northwestsourdough.com/discovering/%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20began%20my%20sourdough%20started%20a%20little%20over%20two%20weeks%20ago%20(March%2026th%20to%20be%20exact).%20I%20shared%20my%20daily%20experiences%20on%20my%20facebook%20fan%20page%20(if%20you%20wanna%20take%20a%20peak....Peaceful%20Cooking%20on%20Facebook)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20a%20loaf%20of%20sourdough%20bread%20rising%20on%20the%20counter%20at%20this%20very%20moment.%20I'll%20be%20giving%20more%20details%20about%20my%20starter%20and%20how%20my%20first%20loaf%20turns%20out%20later%20on%20this%20week.%20In%20the%20mean%20time,%20I%20had%20enough%20starter%20to%20not%20only%20make%20the%20bread%20and%20keep%20the%20starter%20going....but%20I%20had%20enough%20to%20make%20a%20stack%20of%20Sourdough%20Waffles.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESourdough%20Waffles%20(adapted%20from%20Northwest%20Sourdough)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emakes%204%20Belgian%20waffles%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20bowl,%20combine%20the%20sourdough%20starter,%20water,%20milk,%20eggs,%20malt%20syrup%20and%20butter.%20In%20a%20small%20bowl,%20combine%20your%20dry%20ingredients:%20flour,%20salt,%20baking%20soda%20and%20baking%20powder.%20Add%20the%20dry%20ingredients%20to%20the%20wet%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20the%20batter%20is%20too%20thick,%20add%20a%20little%20water,%20keeping%20in%20mind%20that%20the%20batter%20needs%20to%20be%20on%20the%20thin%20side%20(so%20I'm%20told....I'm%20not%20the%20expert%20here%20by%20any%20means.%20Remember....this%20is%20my%20first%20time%20ever%20making%20these%20things).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20your%20waffle%20iron%20and%20do%20whatever%20it%20is%20you're%20suppose%20to%20do%20with%20whichever%20waffle%20iron%20you%20happen%20have.%20If%20you%20have%20heat%20settings%20on%20yours%20(mine%20doesn't)....set%20it%20on%20high.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20waffle%20iron%20doesn't%20have%20settings.%20What%20it%20does%20have%20is%20a%20nifty%20little%20timer.%20It%20took%20about%204%20minutes%20(or%20until%20the%20steam%20subsided)%20and%20poof....I%20was%20removing%20my%20waffle%20with%20ease.%20No%20fuss...no%20muss.%20And%20what%20a%20beautiful,%20fat%20little%20waffle%20it%20was....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20did%20it!%20I%20had%20conquered%20my%20fear%20of%20the%20evil%20waffle%20appliance!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd....I%20made%20something%20from%20my%20sourdough%20starter!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAaaaand....it%20was%20easy.%20As%20a%20matter%20of%20fact,%20as%20I%20was%20standing%20there%20waiting%20to%20remove%20my%20next%20waffle...I%20was%20thinking%20to%20myself...'This%20is%20so%20much%20easier%20than%20pancakes!'%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20what%20was%20I%20afraid%20of?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOoooh%20ya....this...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20melt%20down.%20The%20overload.%20The%20mess.%20%20Oh%20well...it's%20bound%20to%20happen.%20And%20it's%20really%20not%20all%20that%20bad.%20Way%20worth%20the%20results.%20And%20still%20much%20easier%20than%20pancakes.%20Seriously...if%20that's%20the%20only%20mess%20I%20end%20up%20with....that's%20nothing%20compared%20to%20all%20the%20drips%20and%20drizzles%20across%20the%20counter%20and%20stove%20when%20I%20make%20pancakes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20that%20I%20have%20a%20stack%20of%20these%20beauties,%20what%20would%20you%20put%20on%20them?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESure...I%20could%20totally%20go%20for%20the%20strawberries%20and%20whipped%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20I%20happen%20to%20have%20a%20thing%20for%20peanut%20butter%20and%20maple%20syrup.....%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
