- Mix flour, butter, lowfat sour cream, Large eggs, salt and vanilla. Dissolve yeast in hot water. Add in to flour mix; beat till smooth. Cover and refrigeratethoroughly, from 2 to 24 hrs. Divide dough in half; keep half chilled. Roll out other half to an 8"x12" rectangle. Sprinkle with 3 Tbsp. sugar. Fold into thirds, like a letter. Repeat rolling dough to an 8"x12" rectangle and sprinkling with sugar 2 more times. Roll into an 8"x12" rectangle and cut into 3/4" x 4" strips. Twist strips twice; place on greased baking sheets. Repeat with remaining dough and sugar. Cover and let rise in a hot place for 30 min. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 min till lightly browned. Cold. Glaze with confectioners' sugar frosting and sprinkle with pecans or possibly almonds.
