Рецепт Sophie 3 Month Update
by Macaroni and Cheesecake

I’m so sorry I haven’t been very good about keeping you all updated about Sophie. I kept meaning to do it and it just kept getting away from me. I thought it was high time since she turned 3 months old yesterday. Time is flying by! She is doing great! The picture above is her at 1 month on the left, then 2 months, and 3 months on the right. One of her newborn photos is below.

Her first month was a bit rough as she developed reflux and kept losing weight. I quit nursing and we switched to formula and after trying a few different ones we finally found one that helped her spit up less and she began to gain weight. We went to the GI Dr. this week and he confirmed that she has reflux and gave us some things to change and they are seeming to help quite a bit. The good thing is she’s what they call a “happy spitter” so it doesn’t cause her pain and she doesn’t get upset about it. And she’s up to 9 lbs. finally!!

Other than the reflux, Sophie is such a good baby! She sleeps through the night and has done so since she was very young, which is such a blessing!! We are praising the Lord for that!!! She has such a sweet little personality. She is super smiley and loves to look all around at pictures on the wall. Her favorite thing is for her Daddy to sing her ABC’s, she gets so excited about it! She is starting to get a lot stronger and is batting & kicking at toys in front of her. She holds her head up really well and sits in her little seat for a few minutes at a time. She absolutely hates having a wet diaper and lets us know if it’s even remotely wet, haha.

Being her mom is such a gift! I can’t believe this time last year we were just going through our IVF cycle! God is so good!!! We are so thankful to the Lord for our little miracle!!

I will say that the adjustment to mommy hood was a little rocky at first with the reflux and just total change to our schedule. But after that first month, God showed me that I need to make sure I take a little time for myself during the day. Whether that’s just taking a shower during her nap, making something for the blog, or working out. Just a few moments of something I enjoy helps tremendously. We’ve also made sure we’ve had some date nights and also gone out as a family to the mall or to dinner which has helped the transition quite a bit. And having play dates & girl time with my friends helps too! I feel like we are finally starting to get into a groove! And I can’t say enough how much Adam has helped me. He makes her bottles each night for the next day and helps change diapers/give baths and will run errands for me on his lunch hour. So beyond blessed and thankful to the Lord for such an amazing husband!!
