,%20I%E2%80%99ll%20still%20be%20gathering%20with%20friends%20to%20watch%20(listen)%20to%20the%20game.%20Once%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20my%20team%20it%20becomes%20an%20opportunity%20to%20get%20together%20but%20gabbing%20with%20friends%20and%20eating%20some%20good%20food%20will%20be%20higher%20on%20the%20agenda.%20Or%20rather%20it%20will%20be%20the%20only%20agenda.%20I%20know%20guys%20can%20watch%20games%20without%20any%20team%20affiliation%20but%20for%20me?%20I%E2%80%99m%20done%20with%20football%20and%20ready%20to%20move%20on%20to%20more%20important%20things.%20Food.%20And%20these%20Slow%20Cooker%20Sweet,%20Spicy%20and%20Sticky%20Chicken%20wings%20are%20almost%20the%20perfect%20food.%20Well,%20at%20least%20Super%20Bowl%20food.%20Whether%20you%20care%20about%20the%20game%20or%20not.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99ve%20been%20making%20these%20pups%20for%20probably%2020%20years%20and%20even%20then%20I%20was%20happy%20for%20an%20alternative%20to%20Buffalo%20Wings.%20These%20are%20so%20not%20your%20standard%20wings.%20While%20I%20enjoy%20hot%20wings%20with%20a%20cool%20garnish,%20I%20actually%20love%20these%20more.%20They%20have%20a%20sticky%20sweet%20coating%20made%20from%20red%20wine%20and%20brown%20sugar,%20the%20spicy%20comes%20from%20garlic%20and%20mustard%20and%20the%20sticky?%20Low%20and%20slow%20cooking%20melds%20those%20flavors%20into%20a%20wonderful%20sticky%20coating;%20you%E2%80%99ll%20know%20since%20they%20are%20eaten%20with%20your%20fingers!%20Trust%20me,%20they%20will%20disappear%20quick.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20original%20recipe%20for%20these%20chicken%20wings%20has%20them%20slow%20cooked%20in%20the%20oven%20or%20if%20made%20during%20the%20summer%20I%E2%80%99ve%20even%20managed%20them%20on%20the%20grill.%20But%20honestly%20they%20were%20a%20bit%20of%20a%20pain.%20Constantly%20watching%20and%20turning%20to%20insure%20that%20all%20of%20the%20wings%20cooked%20equally%20make%20them%20more%20work%20than%20I%20ever%20wanted%20but%20I%20suffered%20for%20the%20results%20and%20after%20this%20latest%20effort%20found%20that%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20to!%20I%E2%80%99m%20excited%20that%20making%20Sweet,%20Spicy%20and%20Sticky%20Chicken%20Wings%20is%20so%20much%20easier%20in%20a%20slow%20cooker%20and%20yet%20the%20results%20are%20just%20as%20wonderful.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20many,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20come%20to%20re-appreciate%20my%20slow%20cooker.%20The%20ones%20from%20%E2%80%98the%20olden%20days%E2%80%99%20that%20might%20have%20promised%20to%20make%20cooking%20easier%20were%20also%20so%20limiting.%20One%20temperature%20setting%20meant%20some%20careful%20monitoring.%20New%20units%20include%20so%20many%20settings%20that%20they%20work%20%20better%20to%20fit%20with%20our%20schedules.%20As%20I%20contemplated%20changing%20a%20low%20and%20slow%20bake%20period%20in%20the%20oven%20to%20replicating%20the%20same%20results%20in%20my%20slow%20cooker,%20I%20was%20happy%20to%20have%20a%20counter-top%20unit%20with%20a%20Low%20temperature%20setting%E2%80%A6I%20wanted%20wings%20when%20I%20was%20finished,%20not%20a%20stew%20of%20sweet%20and%20sticky%20chicken%20meat!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EResults%20were%20fantastic%20but%20this%20does%20require%20a%20step%20outside%20of%20the%20cooker%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20SO%20worth%20it.%20Baking%20the%20wings%20in%20the%20oven%20does%20see%20the%20sauce%20evaporate%20more%20quickly%20and%20while%20I%E2%80%99m%20sure%20a%20longer%20period%20in%20the%20slow%20cooker%20might%20have%20seen%20that%20happen%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20risk%20overdoing%20the%20wings,%20so%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20simple%20enough%20step%20and%20even%20with%20that%20bit%20of%20cooking%20outside%20of%20the%20slow%20cooker%20the%20process%20is%20so%20much%20easier%20than%20what%20I%E2%80%99ve%20done%20in%20years%20past%20so%20no%20complaining%20from%20me.%20Especially%20not%20after%20I%20sample%20one.%20Or%20ten.%20I%20love%20these%20things.%20Super%20tender%20chicken%20meat%20is%20covered%20with%20a%20sauce%20that%20is%20fantastic.%20Sticky?%20Yes.%20Do%20I%20still%20eat%20them%20with%20my%20fingers?%20Absolutely%E2%80%A6they%20are%20quite%20simply%20the%20epitome%20of%20%E2%80%98finger%20lickin%20good.%E2%80%99%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%C2%BD%20cup%20(8%20Tbsp)%20butter%201%20cup%20brown%20sugar%20%C2%BD%20Tbsp%20soy%20sauce%20%C2%BD%20cup%20dry%20red%20wine%202%20tsp%20dry%20mustard%202%20large%20garlic%20cloves,%20crushed%20%C2%BC%20cup%20fresh%20lemon%20juice%20fresh%20ground%20pepper%20to%20taste%20For%20the%20Garnish:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToasted%20sesame%20seeds%20for%20garnish%20(optional)%20Parsley,%20chopped%20(optional)%20%20%20Preparation%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20chicken%20in%20the%20bottom%20of%20a%20large%20slow%20cooker%20Combine%20all%20sauce%20ingredients%20and%20pour%20over%20chicken.%20Let%20stand%20for%20at%20least%201%20hour.%20Be%20sure%20all%20wings%20are%20well%20coated%20with%20marinade.%20Set%20cooker%20to%20cook%20for%203-4%20hours%20on%20low;%20Meat%20should%20be%20tender%20but%20the%20wings%20should%20not%20be%20falling%20apart
