- Brown meat cubes on all sides, being careful not to let sides touch. Add in garlic, onion pwdr, wine and consomme and heat to a boil; reduce heat and simmer about 1 hour, covered.
- Make a paste of the water and cornstarch; gradually add in paste to meat mix. Cook, stirring constantly till mix boils and gravy is thick. Serve over rice. Serves 8 persons.
