.%20Not%20oats%20mind%20you,%20oat%20bran.%20It%E2%80%99s%20different.%20Oat%20bran%20is%20the%20outer%20layer%20of%20the%20oat%20grain%20and%20contains%20loads%20of%20good%20stuff.%20See%20this%20and%20this%20for%20more%20info.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWalk%20at%20least%2020%20minutes%20per%20day%20and%20never%20use%20lifts%20or%20escalators%20again.%20Gulp.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20a%20week%20on%20a%20day%20you%E2%80%99ve%20set,%20go%20back%20to%20the%20Attack%20phase%20(1st%20stage).%20That%20means%20eating%20only%20protein.%20Lean%20meats,%20fish,%20seafood%20and%20fat%20free%20dairy.%20Dr.%20Dukan%20calls%20this%20Protein%20Thursday.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnother%20thing%20you%E2%80%99re%20supposed%20to%20stick%20to%20although%20not%20actually%20mentioned%20in%20the%20rules,%20is%20drinking%202%20litres%20of%20water%20a%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20be%20honest%20I%E2%80%99ve%20broken%202%20out%20of%20the%20above%204%20rules.%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20keep%20up%20with%20the%20water%20and%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20deal%20with%20the%20metro%20station%20stairs%20at%208:00am.%20I%20know%20I%20know,%20water%20is%20vital,%20I%E2%80%99ve%20read%20all%20the%20same%20magazine%20articles%20as%20you.%20But%20I%20just%20don%E2%80%99t%20get%20thirsty%20enough%20to%20guzzle%20that%20much,%20plus%20the%20loos%20at%20work%20are%20on%20a%20different%20floor%20(sorry,%20too%20much%20info).%20Anyway.%20I%20try.%20As%20regards%20the%20walking,%20I%20figure%20since%20I%20ride%20twice%20a%20week%20I%20can%20get%20away%20with%20not%20walking%20that%20often.%20Or,%20ahem,%20not%20walking%20at%20all.%20Moving%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOat%20bran%20and%20Protein%20Thursdays%20are%20a%20different%20story.%20These%20I%20have%20stuck%20to%20religiously.%20My%20Thursdays%20are%20actually%20Mondays,%20but%20you%E2%80%99re%20allowed%20to%20switch.%20Mondays%20are%20crap%20anyway,%20so%20how%20much%20worse%20can%20they%20get?%20To%20be%20fair,%20eating%20pure%20protein%20(even%20back%20in%20the%20diet%20days)%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20as%20hard%20as%20I%20had%20expected.%20I%E2%80%99m%20lucky%20because%20I%20like%20all%20the%20allowed%20foods%20%E2%80%93%20and%20really%20love%20cottage%20cheese,%20yogurt%20and%20eggs,%20which%20are%20stars%20in%20this%20particular%20show.%20The%20only%20really%20hard%20part%20was,%20still%20is,%20thinking%20up%20creative%20and%20exciting%20meals%20for%20those%20times%20when%20a%20plain%20chicken%20breast%20just%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20cut%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELast%20Monday%20I%20decided%20my%20dinner%20was%20going%20to%20be%20smoked%20salmon%20and%20eggs.%20Now%20normally%20I%20would%20scramble%20the%20eggs%20and%20have%20them%20on%20the%20side,%20but%20I%20was%20in%20the%20mood%20for%20something%20different.%20And%20I%E2%80%99d%20already%20had%20one%20scrambled%20egg%20for%20lunch!%20So%20I%20went%20with%20a%20frittata,%20which%20I%20think%20is%20one%20of%20the%20most%20versatile%20dishes%20you%20can%20bake%20up.%20The%20proper%20way%20to%20make%20it%20is%20start%20it%20off%20like%20an%20omelet%20in%20a%20skillet,%20and%20finish%20cooking%20it%20under%20the%20grill.%20But%20you%20can%20also%20just%20bake%20it%20(less%20washing%20up).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20a%20great%20%E2%80%9Cclean%20out%20the%20fridge%E2%80%9D%20dish,%20as%20you%20can%20throw%20in%20a%20number%20of%20veggies%20or%20leftover%20meats.%20This%20one%20is%20of%20course%20pretty%20basic,%20as%20veg%20is%20not%20allowed%20on%20Pure%20Protein%20(PP)%20days,%20but%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20on%20the%20Cruise%20Phase%20(or%20not%20on%20a%20diet%20at%20all)%20some%20chopped%20red%20pepper,%20or%20cooked%20broccoli%20florets,%20or%20spinach%20would%20work%20well.%20Cooked%20chicken,%20bacon,%20sausage%20or%20deli%20ham%20and%20turkey%20are%20also%20great%20in%20frittatas.%20Since%20PP%20days%20allow%20a%20little%20greenery%20as%20flavouring,%20chopped%20chives%20and%20dill%20were%20what%20completed%20my%20version.%20I%20could%20have%20also%20added%20some%20capers%20but%20I,%20um,%20just%20thought%20of%20that%20now.%20Just%20so%20you%20know,%20I%20ate%20the%20whole%20thing%20all%20on%20my%20own%20which%20upped%20my%20intake%20to%20a%20total%20of%205%20eggs%20that%20day.%20I%E2%80%99m%20on%20the%20side%20of%20those%20who%20say%20the%20egg/cholesterol%20thing%20is%20a%20myth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnother%20cool%20idea%20is%20to%20put%20the%20mixture%20into%20silicone%20muffin%20cups%20(don%E2%80%99t%20use%20your%20muffin%20tin.%20Egg%20sticks.%20Trust%20me.)%20and%20make%20egg%20muffins.%20Perfect%20to%20keep%20on%20hand%20for%20snacking%20as%20the%20protein%20will%20keep%20you%20going%20for%20much%20longer%20than%20a%20carb-loaded%20regular%20muffin,%20or%20sandwich,%20or%20bag%20of%20crisps.%20Unless%20it%E2%80%99s%20one%20of%20those%20days%20when%20only%20crisps%20will%20make%20you%20feel%20better!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimple%20Salmon%20Egg%20Frittata%20%E2%80%93%20For%20Protein%20Thursdays%20or%20Any%20Thursdays%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20180C.
