%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20we%20are%20starting%20the%20final%20week%20of%20our%20month%20long%20A-Z%20themed%20blogging%20marathon.%20It%20has%20been%20quite%20an%20experience%20cooking%20and%20posting%20Andhra%20dishes%20for%20the%20past%2018%20days.%20As%20a%20group,%20we%20have%20been%20planning%20the%20event%20for%20almost%204%20months%20and%20so%20most%20of%20my%20dishes%20were%20thought%20out,%20cooked,%20clicked%20and%20scheduled%20to%20post%20well%20in%20advance%20except%20for%20the%20last%20week.%20I%20only%20made%202%20dishes%20for%20the%20last%20week%20and%20the%20posts%20are%20still%20pending%20:-(%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeptember%20has%20been%20the%20busiest%20month%20so%20far.%202%20birthday%20parties%20planned%20and%20executed,%20sending%20a%20first%20grader%20back%20to%20school,%20family%20from%20India%20visiting,%20entertaining%20my%201%20year%20old%20and%20my%203%20year%20old%20niece%20during%20the%20day..%20phew..%20a%20lot%20has%20been%20going%20on%20and%20the%20last%20of%20week%20BM%20suddenly%20had%20to%20be%20put%20on%20the%20back%20burner.%20Added%20to%20that%20some%20of%20the%20letters%20for%20this%20week%20were%20also%20quite%20challenging%20(hello%20U,V,W,X,Y%20&%20Z--%20thank%20you).%20But%20I'm%20sure%20I'll%20figure%20everything%20out%20and%20complete%20the%20marathon,%20thanks%20to%20my%20mom%20for%20all%20the%20help%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EComing%20back%20to%20today's%20letter%20S.%20Veggies%20&%20Fruits%20that%20I%20can%20think%20of%20are%20Sorakaya%20(bottle%20gourd),%20Sapota%20(chikoo),%20ingredients%20like%20Saggubiyyam%20(sago,%20tapioca%20pearls)%20etc.%20There%20is%20a%20very%20yummy%20eggplany%20based%20stew%20called%20Sivangi%20Pulusu%20that%20starts%20with%20S,%20but%20I%20didn't%20want%20to%20make%20any%20more%20eggplant%20based%20dishes%20for%20this%20series%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20yesterday%20was%20my%20son's%20birthday,%20I'm%20celebrating%20today%20with%20this%20traditional%20Hyderabadi%20dessert,%20Sheer%20Qurma.%20I've%20heard%20the%20name%20Sheer%20Qurma%20before,%20but%20didn't%20know%20that%20Qurma%20here%20means%20dates%20and%20this%20dessert%20is%20actually%20made%20with%20thin%20vermicelli%20and%20dates.%20I%20have%20to%20say%20I%20was%20ignorant%20about%20a%20lot%20of%20Hyderabadi%20dishes%20till%20now%20and%20I'm%20so%20glad%20that%20doing%20this%20marathon%20has%20made%20me%20learn%20a%20lot%20the%20dishes%20from%20my%20home%20town.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20is%20an%20adaptation%20from%20VahrehVah%20chef.%20I%20used%20evaporated%20milk%20instead%20of%20boiling%20the%20milk%20to%20the%20thick%20consistency.%20Quantity%20of%20sugar%20used%20is%20based%20on%20personal%20preference,%20so%20please%20feel%20free%20to%20adjust%20it%20accordingly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%201tbsp%20ghee%20in%20a%20saute%20pan;%20add%20the%20nuts%20and%20fry%20until%20golden.%20Remove%20and%20set%20aside.%20In%20the%20same%20pan,%20roast%20the%20dates%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%202tbsp%20ghee%20in%20the%20same%20pan;%20add%20the%20semya/%20vermicelli%20and%20roast%20on%20medium-low%20flame%20until%20golden.%20If%20using%20roasted%20semya,%20just%20roast%20for%20couple%20of%20minutes%20so%20that%20they%20start%20smelling%20fragrant.%20Add%202tbsp%20water%20to%20slow%20down%20the%20cooking%20temperature.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20add%20evaporated%20milk,%20whole%20milk%20and%20bring%20the%20mixture%20to%20a%20boil.%20Lower%20the%20heat%20and%20simmer%20for%203-4%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20add%20sugar,%20condensed%20milk,%20ground%20cardamom;%20mix%20well%20and%20cook%20until%20the%20sugar%20dissolves%20and%20the%20mixture%20starts%20to%20thicken%20a%20little%20bit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20off%20the%20heat%20and%20add%20the%20fried%20nuts%20and%20dates.%20Enjoy%20hot,%20cold%20or%20at%20room%20temperature.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELogo%20courtesy%20:%20Preeti%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20out%20the%20Blogging%20Marathon%20page%20for%20the%20other%20Blogging%20Marathoners%20doing%20BM%23%2032.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EK%20for%20Kakarakaya%20Podi%20Kura%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EL%20for%20Lauju/%20Laskora%20(Kobbari%20Lauju)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EM%20for%20Menthi%20kura%20Pappu%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EN%20for%20Nuvvulu-Mamidikaya%20Pachadi%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EO%20for%20Onion%20Pachadi%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EP%20for%20Pindi%20Miriyam%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EQ%20for%20Qabooli%20Biryani%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ER%20for%20Ragi-Barley%20Sankati%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
