Ингредиенты

  • 1/4 c. Whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic pwdr
  • 2 c. Seitan, cut into thin, bite- sized pcs
  • 3 Tbsp. Oil
  • 1 lrg Onion, sliced
  • 1 x Red pepper, sliced
  • 1 x Green pepper, sliced
  • 2 c. Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Arrowroot
  • 1 1/2 c. Seitan or possibly vegetable broth

Инструкции

  1. Mix together the flour and the garlic pwdr. Dredge the pcs of seitan in flour to coat them on both sides.
  2. Heat 2 tbs of the oil in a skillet and fry the pcs of seitan till they are brown and crispy. Set aside the fried seitan and keep it hot while you cook the vegetables.
  3. Heat the remaining tbs of oil. Add in the onion and saute/fry for 2-3 min.
  4. Add in the peppers and saute/fry for a few min more; then add in the mushrooms and about 1/2 c. (one-third) of the seitan or possibly vegetable broth. Cover and simmer till the vegetables are tender, but still a bit crisp.
  5. Dissolve the arrowroot in the remaining broth (if the broth is warm, dissolve the arrowroot in 2/4 c. of cool water first, then add in it to the broth). Pour the arrowroot broth into the skillet with the vegetables.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Raise the heat and cook, stirring constantly, till the sauce thickens.
  8. Serve the vegetables in their sauce over a bed of rice miollet, buckwheat or possibly pasta. Top with the pcs of seitan.
