Secret Recipe Club Reveal Day: Going Up North Chocolate Chip #Cookie #Recipe

This month Colie’s Kitchen was lucky enough

to get the change to hang out and take over Lynn’s Kitchen at Turnips 2 Tangerines. The

first thing I noticed about Lynn’s blog is that it’s neat and clean and nicely

organized. It didn’t take me anytime to find the exact recipe I wanted to make.

I had just purchased a big bag of chocolate

chips from Aldi and wanted to give them a try before I need them for Christmas.

Aldi recently opened in my neighborhood so I am not all that familiar with

their products, but I must say everything I have had so far has been a winner. With

that being said, I knew I was on the lookout for something that required

chocolate chips. If my chocolate chips were bad in the recipe I would still

have time to make more with new chocolate chips before reveal day.

As I said before it didn’t take me long to

find the winning recipe Going

Up North Chocolate Chip Cookies. I love the idea that they have cornflakes and oatmeal in

them. Talk about some great texture. I had everything I needed on hand and I was

ready to get to work.

The prep-work

went really quickly. I basically put all the dry ingredients in one bowl and all

of the wet in the Kitchenaid mixer then combined the two them.

Between the

prep, the mixing, and the baking I was done well before an hour had passed, oh

yeah and I was able to stuff several cookies in my mouth before that hour had passed

too. *Please excuse me while I wipe the

chocolate off my face*

WOW, excellent flavor,

wonderful texture, and a beautiful cookie!! I am very (anal) picky about my

chocolate chip cookies, the must be firm on the outside, soft and gooey on the

inside, they must hold their shape, not crumble, and they must have a great

flavor. We have a true winner here that met all of my expectations! I think

this recipe will be on my Christmas Cookie list this year!

Preheat oven to

350.

Cream together

butter, oil and sugars.

Add egg, milk,

vanilla and mix well.

Stir together dry

ingredients.

Gradually add to

creamed mixture, mix well.

Stir in chips,

cornflakes, oatmeal and nuts.

Drop by spoonful’s

onto cookie sheets

Bake at 350 until

light brown 10-15 minutes.

Thank you Lynn for allowing Colie’s Kitchen to hang out in your kitchen

this month.
