Other than French Fries, Rice Krispy Treats are one of of my guilty pleasures. There's something about biting into crunchy cereal that has a gloriously chewy texture of marshmallow that transports me to my childhood, with great memories. Seriously, I could eat an entire pan of these, if left to my own devices. Fortunately, my son is as crazy about these treats as much as I am. %20A%20couple%20of%20weeks%20ago,%20my%20son%20asked%20me%20to%20make%20a%20pan%20of%20rice%20krispie%20treats.%20It%20took%20all%20of%205%20minutes%20to%20do,%20and%20my%20husband%20thought%20it%20was%20an%20odd%20dessert%20for%20me%20to%20make--%20so%20different%20from%20my%20fancier%20Apple%20Brown%20Butter%20Tart%20or%20Red%20Velvet%20Layer%20Cake..%20I%20mean,%20melted%20marshmallows%20and%20a%20cereal?%20Uh-huh.%20My%20husband%20polished%20off%20his%20fair%20share%20of%20them.%20I%20think%20he%20understood,%20at%20that%20point.%20These%20are%20very%20addicting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet's%20face%20it--%20S'Mores%20are%20so%20popular%20in%20Blogsphere.%20I've%20seen%20S'Mores%20Cupcakes,%20Pies,%20Cookies,%20Brownies....%20who%20doesn't%20love%20melted%20Hershey's%20Chocolate,%20graham%20crackers%20with%20gooey%20melted%20marshmallows?I%20found%20this%20recipe%20on%20the%20blog%20%20Greens%20And%20Chocolate,%20and%20thought%20this%20would%20be%20a%20fun%20variation%20of%20our%20beloved%20Rice%20Krispie%20Treats.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20prep%20work%20is%20very%20minimal,%20other%20than%20measuring%20chocolate%20chips.%20I%20chose%20to%20go%20with%20milk%20chocolate,%20but%20if%20you%20prefer%20semi-sweet%20please%20be%20my%20guest.%20I%20chopped%20up%20one%20package%20of%20graham%20crackers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20decided%20to%20increase%20the%204%20cups%20of%20mini%20marshmallows%20to%206%20cups,%20because%20we%20love%20our%20rice%20krispie%20treats%20to%20be%20super%20gooey.%20I%20use%20the%20microwave,%20by%20adding%203%20Tablespoons%20butter%20and%20nuking%20it%20for%20about%20one%20minute.%20Then,%20I%20give%20it%20a%20stir.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI've%20measured%20five%20cups%20of%20rice%20krispy%20cereal%20with%201-1/2%20cups%20of%20coarsely%20chopped%20graham%20crackers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20nuking%20the%20marshmallow-butter%20mixture%20for%20another%2030%20seconds,%20it%20melted%20and%20ready%20to%20be%20poured%20into%20the%20bowl%20of%20cereal%20and%20graham%20crackers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20added%201-1/2%20cups%20of%20the%20milk%20chocolate%20chips%20and%20started%20to%20fold%20everything%20in,%20mixing%20it%20well.%20Then%20I%20poured%20it%20into%20a%209x13%20pan,%20that%20I%20had%20placed%20a%20foil%20%22sling%22%20into%20and%20sprayed%20with%20non-stick%20spray.%20I%20like%20to%20butter%20my%20well%20washed%20hands%20so%20that%20I%20can%20easily%20pat%20the%20mixture%20evenly.%20I%20let%20this%20set%20for%20about%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMuch%20better,%20as%20I%20used%20an%20off-set%20spatula%20to%20get%20chocolate%20into%20every%20nook%20and%20cranny.%20Next%20I%20added%20the%20reserved%201-1/4%20cups%20chopped%20graham%20crackers%20and%20spread%20them%20evenly--%20then%20pressed%20them%20into%20the%20melted%20chocolate%20with%20a%20flat%20spatula.%20I%20chilled%20the%20dish%20for%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20beauty%20of%20having%20a%20foil%20%22sling%22%20is%20being%20able%20to%20lift%20out%20the%20entire%20bar%20to%20cut%20it%20more%20easily.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat's%20what%20we're%20talkin'%20about!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20husband%20was%20lurking%20close%20by,%20waiting%20for%20his%20taste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETASTING%20NOTES:%20Yesssss!%20These%20are%20sinfully%20good.%20I'm%20so%20glad%20that%20I%20chose%20milk%20chocolate,%20over%20semi-sweet,%20because%20it%20has%20that%20authentic%20taste%20of%20S'mores.%20Though%20I%20added%202%20extra%20cups%20of%20marshmallow,%20I%20think%20I'm%20going%20to%20increase%20it%20to%20at%20least%207%20cups....maybe%208.%20I'd%20love%20just%20a%20bit%20more%20%22goo%22,%20which%20my%20son%20concurred--%20as%20he%20stuffed%20one%20eagerly%20into%20his%20mouth.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
